Agreed. What a lot of manufacturers DON'T want you to have is reliable low-cost transportation. THEY want you to have an uber expensive pickup or suv or an even more expensive electric pickup or suv, but WE the people want and need affordable and reliable CARS. Agreed on all counts, and I love my SE....but on the other hand, it's kind of sad that Toyota no longer makes any vehicles in the "can't afford anything else" market, especially when considering those old basic Corollas also ran to over 400,000+ miles. Today, people in that financial bracket are forced to choose a less reliable Nissan Versa.

I prefer manual seat adjust. To me it's just something more complicated than it needs to be and something that will fail sooner or later. My current car is 22 years old with manual seat adjusters, I can adjust the seat to my needs in less than 2 seconds and the manual controls have never failed in 22 years. It's a matter of perspective and I'm in it for the long haul. I expect my next car to be a Corolla and I expect to run it for decades.

Yup, the missus doesn't drive so it's all me. It's totally awesome that Toyota has a 169 hp naturally aspirated engine, they last a fair bit longer than turbo engines and while I would have liked a manual or a transmission with real gears, at least Toyota has a real " launch " gear which will probably extend the life of the CVT. It's kind of cool to see videos of my future car, you get a good sense of the car without having to go to the dealership.

I hate what I paid for my used 24 LE with 15k miles on it but with all the computer features enabled I get 36-37MPG letting it pretty much drive itself with minimal input from myself. Taking a huge gamble on CVT coming from a 2007 sienna that's blown 2 transmissions but I baby this thing with much less rage acceleration that I did on that poor sienna. It takes 99% of the stress out of my drive to work that involves entirely too many people who don't know how to drive so having a car that brakes and accelerates on it's own is my heaven.
