The drilled wheat looks a lot better than the sowed. The sowed looks a lot better now than it did when we sprayed it.

Dylan how much spring pressure do you have on the brake away on the boom tips

@@DylanJoyceFarms I found on mine if you adjust them all the way back they don't slam back so hard that was what was braking so many of mine

Your thoughts on the 4630? We love our's. It's a 2012 model. We bought it used (as we do everything) in 2014 off Tractor House. It is leaps and bounds ahead of our old 6700. And it's light years ahead of a tractor mounted sprayer.
@DylanJoyceFarms9 ай бұрын
@MarshallLanier-oi1mk I really like it. Big productivity in a little sprayer. It's light, and I can be out in the field a day before everyone else. I came from a Tyler Patriot. My only complaint is that I wish the ride was a little better, and I wish it had a bigger solution tank.

I guess with the longer growing season you guys have, that must get the weeds and grass growing, we never spray for weeds.

Man yeah, the beginning of the herbicide program, that is awesome!!! I love the attention to detail!! Cant beat a good pen and paper back up plan, I have made myself start documenting everything!! So what happened to the reel to cause you hook up the power part? Just time too, or was there other issues ? That wheat really looks great!! Hope y'all have a Happy New Year!! Look fwd to following along to see what 2024 has in store 😁😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍🌽🌽🌱🌱🌾🌾🚜🚜

We had an issue with the keyway slipping on the manual handle, and it was quicker to wire up the electric motor than disassemble the handle. I need to get it wired into the power off of the truck to keep the battery charged. Our old yellow water trailer was that way.

@@DylanJoyceFarms Man yeah, that might have happened for a reason!! That sure did look easier!! Thank you Dylan for the info!! 😁

Hope yall had a merry christmas and a happy new year. If you dont knock at least one nozzle or hose off your not getting close enough to the fencerows! 🤣
@DylanJoyceFarms11 ай бұрын
Agreed. Plan on putting a fencerow nozzle on it for 2024.

I have a question. Why do you and your buddy matt call fields farrms
@DylanJoyceFarms11 ай бұрын
Just the terminology we use in this part of the world. You rent farms, and then some of those farms have multiple fields. Take, for example, we have a property we call the Hopkins Farm that has multiple fields in multiple locations.

@@DylanJoyceFarms Same way we name them here in northern Iowa. And I would rather leave it at Daylight Savings Time year around, too.

I hit a guide wire on a electric pole with a boom one time let's just say it was expensive day.

@DylanJoyceFarms11 ай бұрын
@Hinesfarm I caught the guide wire, and it pulled the pole in two. I didn't realize it till I turned around at the end of the field and the line laying on the ground. Luckily it the liability was put on Spectrum cable TV company because they put a guide wore up without a reflective marker on it.

I would rather start at 7 like we do in the summer as compared to having to start at 6 in the winter to have the same amount of daylight.
