Excellent suggestion! I'm hoping to get an Ioniq 5N on a track later this year and that will definitely be playing
@swplandry2 ай бұрын
Oh this looks so nice. I love that Ford still gives you the option for the bench seat in the second row. Some other cars I've looked at don't have that option. For me it will always be the bench seat. It just makes it feel more like an SUV and not a mini van, that way
@CarsWithSteve2 ай бұрын
It's definitely a nice upgrade over last year's model! Should have clarified in this vid that the 2025 ST is dual captain's chairs only but the other 3 trims have the option for the bench or captains setup

Very thorough. Thanks. I’m actually looking at this car but the US version. Looks like it might be my next car. You also went thru a lot more stuff than other reviewers. 👍
@CarsWithSteveАй бұрын
You're welcome! The US model will be identical to this one, just forgot to point out the bench seat is not available in the ST this year. What color do you think you're going for?

@@CarsWithSteve I'm thinking of getting the Carbonized Gray Only thing I'm not crazy about id the cruise controls or on the left and I'm used to them being on the right, but I'm sure Ill get used to it.
@CarsWithSteveАй бұрын
Carbonized gray seems to be a pretty popular color! Add in a little window tint and it'll look good. What car are you in right now?
@Anthony-fd8mhАй бұрын
@@CarsWithSteve 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. Got 92k on it but wanted more updated technology and safety features, also since they got rid of 3G it can’t get updates etc any more.
@CarsWithSteveАй бұрын
Just a bit of difference with the tech between the 2. You'll love the power of the ST compared to the Cherokee. Ford has been pretty good with legacy screen updates and they have wifi built in to do updates that way instead!

7:02 Thank you for the linear measurements. They are 1000 times more useful than the pointless cubic feet. One question, the cargo opening in your diagram is 47.5" wide. Is that the same as the width between the wheel wells?
@CarsWithSteve2 ай бұрын
You're welcome! I've always said the same thing about cubic feet.. who actually measures their gear that way? The 47.5" width is for the loading lip, so inside you'd have about an extra inch and change of space

Cant get the 2nd row bench seats even if you try to option it in on ST....at least the custom prompts do not allow me to select bench seats, but I can do either option on ST Line.
@CarsWithSteve2 ай бұрын
Definitely should have pointed that out in this video, the 2025 ST is the only trim that lost the bench option. Thanks for pointing it out in case other people were wondering!

Another great review 🎉. Although the 25 interior looks good I'll stick with my 21 ST because of some elimination of technology, such as parking aid. Plus being a first year of a new upgrade, the infotainment will have issues that need to be worked out. No manual buttons for hvac is a mistake, in my eyes.
@CarsWithSteve2 ай бұрын
Thanks Jose! I'm surprised that Ford decided to just delete park assist instead of having it available as a factory order option. Ah well, guess enough people weren't using it. Would have been a good idea to have some manual controls as well, similar to what they did with the new Ranger! Your '21 still treating you well?
@josedelarosa64492 ай бұрын
@CarsWithSteve it's doing great. I also don't understand why ford eliminated the door number pads? It was very handy
@CarsWithSteve2 ай бұрын
Right? That's one thing I've always liked about Ford vehicles. You can add the feature in aftermarket but it's just a little number pad instead of built into the door

That center screen should be slightly skewed toward the driver.
@CarsWithSteve2 ай бұрын
Agree with you there, even a slight curve would make it easier for the driver
@JohnR99652 ай бұрын
Does it have auto start/stop ? Not a fan at all of that…I don’t see a button on center console to shut it off if equip. I believe they stopped the factory delete on that option unfortunately.
@BenLalisan2 ай бұрын
It has a button to shut it off next to the volume knob

White vs carbonized grey on the ST?
@CarsWithSteve2 ай бұрын
I'd go white between those 2 options because the highlights really pop
@MadMartiganz2 ай бұрын
Thanks Steve haha. Ready to pull the trigger.. the color is the only thing I cant choose. Both look sick, just worried the carbonized grey is too much grey with the interior being greyish as well. But it looks more aggressive.. but white really pops doesnt it haha
@CarsWithSteve2 ай бұрын
Nice! It's always a tough choice for sure, but you'd honestly be happy either way. Worst case.. go for a wrap aftermarket! What do you think of the new look?
@MadMartiganz2 ай бұрын
Love the new look! More aggressive and boxy especially st and st line. My heart wants the St but my brain says st line. Haha Would you say the st is worth the 10k more? Also any reliability info by any chance? Would the st v6 have better/worse long term compared to the 2.3?
@CarsWithSteve2 ай бұрын
It's going to depend on what you care about. The 3.0L is noticeably more powerful than the 2.3L but really.. the 2.3L still has great performance for the size. The better brakes, suspension and paddle shifters are a nice touch and the ventilated seats and 14 speaker sound system are solid. The Explorer has definitely improved year over year. The 2023 model has significantly less owner complaints than the 2022 and the 2024 is even better YOY. Ford held off on releasing the 2025 models until they were sure previous recalls didn't affect these newer ones. Both engines have good reliability long term as long as you take care of them

Do you know if there is still ford navigation with this os or is it only Google cause one feature I love about the sync navigation is the voice and tone feature
@CarsWithSteve2 ай бұрын
It only features Google Maps now, unless you're running off your phone! There is a voice with Google Maps though, and you can select a voice, tone, both or muted
@markhanna71512 ай бұрын
@@CarsWithSteve oh I would be curious is it's the same tone they have been using for the last 12 ish years when it started on on the sync 2

Slightly different. When I shoot the walkthrough on the infotainment I'll try to remember to show off the navigation voice for factory nav vs phone nav apps

Oh interesting.. I haven't tried playing back the audio loudly on home speakers. I'll give that a try though but will look at some different options for higher quality lapel mics
