If you're going to buy a Tucson, I STRONGLY recommend any version of the HEV or PHEV... both have proven reliable power trains (the 1.6 Turbo + Electric Engine) that are quick and responsive... I've driven every version of the Tucson (and I own a 2023 Tucson Hybrid), but even as a fan of the Tucson I will admit the 2.5L NA engine in the base models is a complete dog... it's sluggish and feels like it runs on Gerbil power. It's fine for Grandma, but if you don't want to draw up plans in advance on how to merge into traffic or make a pass safely, I'd keep away from that base 2.5NA engine, it's just underpowered for the Tucson. The difference between it and the HEV/PHEV models is night and day in driving experience. I strongly recommend the Hybrid Tucsons.

He's right! I have the gas-powered Tucson. It's not as fast as it looks! Manual hear shifting helps jist a little. 2nd and 3rd gear is where the power is everything else above is meh.

If you’re driving behind a car where you can’t see the diffuser then you’re driving pretty damn close. Furthermore the side mirrors have bright orange lights that illuminate when signaling. I don’t think it’s a con that the turn signals indicators are place that low unless you’re one to tailgate the heck out of the car in front lol

On long road trips, I think the plug-in hybrid battery will last about 40 miles (assuming no recharging). After that, you’re driving on the 1.6L gas engine, which is smaller than the 2.5L engine in the gas-only model. So with the plug-in hybrid, does this mean you’re stuck with lower performance on long road trips?

Why Why is there no way to turn off the “consider taking a break “ Notification? I have a 2025 Tucson and I’m considering returning it for a car that doesn’t beep at me because it’s windy or there’s too much construction with uneven lanes. Do not buy Hyundai until they allow you to turn off all these nagging and distracting erroneous notifications. Thank you, Hyundai for ruining my new car experience.

In the 80s maybe. The 1.6t has been used for years and is more reliable than their non turbo 2.5 naturally aspirated.

Hyundai have made a huge mistake swapping they’re unique sleek designed integrated screen/dash for this extremely ugly tacky dash with screen awkwardly and distractingly stuck on top, hard to clean areas and a big tray that attracts junk!! It’s dreadfully disappointing as it was their unique integrated dash that swayed me from the RAV4 and other cars in that range to the 2023 Tucson… and for that reason I’m out!! I shall not be trading in my 2023 model for this cheap design in June’25

Based on what? Rumors and meme's of vehicles long ago or completely different models, or you talking specifically about the Tucsons in this video that you've done research on? Tucsons have a very good reliability rating and top safety ratings for some time by companies that don't just pass judgement based on personal feelings and no research. There's tons of recalls going on with Toyota vehicles lately, in case you were going to do the oh so tiresome "Toyota is super reliable and never has recalls" shtick. Toyota is having huge recalls right now. I'm on my 2nd Tucson, because my 1st Tucson was so reliable and never had any issues, and same with my current (2023) Tucson... it's the first time in my 40 years of driving I bought a car from the same company twice in a row, that's how impressed I was with my Tucson.
@john123543 ай бұрын
@@wolfshanze5980 you cant talk about recalls, Tucson has 3 on the 2024 gas alone. Also, it has nothing to with rumors. Hyundai has earned that reputation from decades of producing trash can cars.
@wolfshanze59803 ай бұрын
@@john12354 I can talk, because I have had had no issues with either of my last Tucsons... and the recall on the gas Tucson (which i don't have) is not "flaming engine" problems... all recalls are not equal, Toyota in-particular concerns massive engine issues... something NOT going on with the current Hyundais. I know you only want to speak hyperbole and on emotions instead of on facts, you don't want to reference a single CURRENT RELIABILITY CHART from any non-biased car review companies or institutes, instead you just want to spew hot gas over ancient issues that aren't relevant today... Toyota is having huge engine issues TODAY on current models... Hyundai isn't... lemme guess, you're angry because you drive a Toyota. I would be too tbh.
@john123543 ай бұрын
@@wolfshanze5980 cool story, you have referenced nothing this whole time. How about we reference sales of the RAV4 compared to the Tucson? Reliability? Toyota has been known for reliability before Hyundai even existed lol. Hyundai is a mememobile for a reason
