This redesigned front end is a no for me. Ram is doubling down on the mustache grill for what reason I’ll never know. Leave it on the Rebel for those who like it. But that new Rebel grill is plain awful ugly. On the bright side if the new trans is calibrated like their current 8HP75, which I also have, it will be great with the exhaust brake.

In 1989, my wife and I were 34, and celebrated our 4th anniversary. In 2018, my wife traded in her Ram 1500 4wd 3.6L for a Ram 2500 4wd 6.7L beast. Other than a ZF Powerline 8-speed transmission needing to be installed. My wife considers her truck to be perfect. We carry a 4Wheel Campers Hawk model slide in camper, and tow my 2023 Jeep Wrangler JLU behind it. A great way to camp and adventure. The truck is a tradesman. The Jeep is a Sport S trim. And the Jeep cost $1k more than the truck. The problem with all vehicles is price. The price to what people will pay is outa wack! All brands cost more than what people can comfortably pay right now. I get a lot of people trying to buy my older project vehicles. And they would prefer to buy new.

I have a 2022 3500 SO Dually. I just got back from short RV trip. I am completely happy with the way the truck tows. I am pulling a 45-foot 18,000 Lb fifth wheel. The exhaust brake is excellent. The truck pulls the trailer with ease. We were driving on hilly small 2 lane roads for a decent part of the drive. The truck handled it no problems. Hard to change at this point. I hope they do a total update soon though. Thanks for your channel.

I was ten in 1989, and I did like that style of Dodge Ram trucks, even the 1994 style also. The other iconic look was when Ford brought out their Superduty body style. I was an apprentice when my superintendent bought himself a 2000 F350 with the 7.3 Powerstroke and we had to demolish some light poles and concrete bases from a local dealership, we took the concrete bases to a dump in a large trailer and even going up hill that diesel engine didn’t hesitate or struggle. After that day I told myself I was going to have either the 7.3 or the 5.9 Cummins. Now I own a 2000 F350 with the 7.3 and a ZF six speed. I always thought the Dodge Ram front end style reminded me of a classic Peterbilt while the Ford Superduty reminds me of a classic Kenworth.

Ram read this consumer wish list. Bring the 1/2 ton can design to the heavy duty trucks for a true redesign. Offer a wide track front axle in the 3500 with a pickup bed. Offer air springs in the chassis cabs like you have been doing with the 3500. Keep the megacab option and also offer it for the chassis cabs. Let Cummins do their thing and stay out of their way. Continue to let outside companies do your transmissions regardless if its zf, aisin, or Allison... Just no more Chrysler trannys. Make a 4500 with a bed on it just to shut us up. 😂

I have a '16 Tradesman CCSB 6.4L 4x4 with 4.10s. Have been waiting for YEARS for Ram to update the cab & styling to the 1500... but it appears I'm SOL (until they get rid of the Hemi). I'm not a fan of the mustache grille... nor the murdered-out/blacked-out front & rear ends. Chrome is FAR more durable, & what stone chips you DO get are MUCH better hidden. I had heard that the '25s would feature yet another tired refresh on the front & rear ends, & that's about it. There was a rumor regarding a slight power bump for the 6.4... jury is still out on that one. At this point, I may go GMC, as I can get a similarly-equipped Sierra for less money than a Rebel. It's hard to justify forking out $30k-$40k for what is basically the same truck that I've had for the last eight years. I have wanted to upgrade to the 8 speed tranny (the 6 speed has always been clunky), but I just can't see enough pluses to justify the change. I'm not thrilled with the anime/tonka-toy styling on the GMs & Fords, but at least they've done some updating.

A note on the 10k gvwr. That’s the reason I bought a RAM 2500. It lets the company I own pull a higher rated trailer without needing to deal with the headaches of a CDL. Id have to run lower capacity trailers if it was a ford or GM truck.

i bought a 2021 Ram Cummins limited . 2K miles my transmission went out and stayed at the dealer for 2 months ( I understood the situations with the way the economy/ delays was ) . A few months after getting it back i started having fuel pump issues then finally left me stranded out in west Texas. When i got it back the 2 time it went basically into limp mode . I restarted it , limp mode went off and i drove literally strait to the dealer and traded it in on a TRX. I know the fuel pump issues have been resolved and hope that this new transmission is better then the standard 6 speed but that truck left a BAD taste in my mouth . Now i have a 24 AT4 2500 and though it is a drastic switch from the TRX it is a nice quite ride with great power .

I think the reason there is not an actual new design is 100% the fault of corporate/stellantis and little carlos and his cut costs above all else mentality. Guy is on his way out and as soon as that happens watch the next person who takes over to hopefully green light the new Ram that is way over due. Hopefully, they split North America off and appoint a dedicated AMERICAN CEO four CDJR.

I wonder if Ram is extending this "gen" because they're going to pull a Nissan on us. They will have to do something eventually and the wait might produce a big surprise. That and Stellantis is getting a new CEO who might see the value in pushing their most profitable brands to the forefront, hopefully with more realistic pricing.

Kept it for 9 years hot shotting around Texas. The odometer broke before the truck did. Prolly had 700,000 miles before I traded it in for a 99 Super duty 7.3 diesel. F-450 On the Dodge I had to put three injector pumps (mechanical) and a throw out bearing. Nothing done to the Ford but alternators and o- ring and tranny. Miss both those trucks. What did I teach you?

The reason Dodge has not changed the body for all these years is because they make a ton of money not changing the body all these years but I do think Dodge will come out with the best looking pickup ever seen and I wished that they would make a cab over for a commercial truck line besides the pick up trucks !

I’m happy with boring, iterative re-designs as long as reliability is up there. That’s the reason i will keep driving Ram so long as they have the cummins. You don't mention the 7.2 in this video, i guess that news came out later, but I think that alone will increase HD sales for ram.

In '89, the Cummins B-engine was an AG engine, not a semi truck engine, that is why it worked so well. Dodge spent more time trying to get the driveline to survive with the torque output of that engine. Of course, we all know that they never figured out the auto tranny issues!

I refuse to buy any other bra d even though chevy runs in my blood and I can literally get the GM discount. Now that being said. I am not happy woth ram. Not because of quality. But because of they are running the 4th gen smaller cab. And the transmission. Ram was the first brand to put a trans in a pickup that was more then 6 gears but the last in the HD department. And not to mention. That front end. Nah. Not for me. But to be fair. Ford and chevy gmc are all doing way to much. Nothing looks clean and flows anymore. The 17 to 23 Fords are a great looking truck same as the GMC and the rams. But they all are in competition to to over complicate and pack in as much plastic as possible. Damn come on. The designers have to be on drugs.

Looking at GM or Ram 2500 with gas engine purchase in 2025 to pull approximately 10k pounds. I'm wondering about trailer sway with the coil springs of the RAM vs. GM leaf springs. Which one is best in your opinion?

The 5.9 is not a semi truck diesel. Semis generally have displacements of 12L and higher.

I think the 2026 Model year will be Ram HD breakout year....Something tells me there will be a New Sheriff in town and it will carry a big stick. I also believe in if it isn't broke don't fix it and Ram has the right formula, slow evolutions over time. The only thing about the HD line is I hate the seating position every one I have sat in and drive I feel claustrophobic as the roof sits to close to my head.

Is it possible to use the same body because it is already crash test certified? I drive a 2017 2500 6.4L, and 5500 Cummins and don't care to upgrade because they are still solid.

I’ve had rams for 15 years and I just swapped over to a gmc due to the lack of updates my last 2 looked inside almost identical, some mechanical issues and the biggest was the lack of payload, moved up to a 5th wheel and the 2500 didn’t have the payload to be technically legal towing it

I never said ram interior wasn’t good I said it hasn’t been updated in a while and my main reason for swapping was the lack of payload capacity the ram 2500 has compared to other brands

Dodge has NEVER karate chopped ford. Fords Diesel truck was released in 1983 and was top of the class. Dodge has ALWAYS been playing the rear position. Only highlight was in 2001 when they released the ETH/DEE option package for 245hp and 505tq with a 6 speed. I ordered a new one that year. LAST real truck from Dodge went until year 2002.5, after that, trash... Cheaper engine, cheaper diff's... THAT was the beginning of the end for Dodge trucks.

I was 8 in 89. Don't know why Ram is waiting so long to update the HD's. A larger cab would be nice but not necessarily a priority for me but a larger standard/short bed would be great!

The only thing that would bring major excitement is the manual transmission. If they don’t bring back the manual transmission. I don’t see the point in ordering a new one.
