I saw an interview recently with Derek from Vice Grip Garage where you commented he was your inspiration to start this channel. I would say he's a great mentor to have as an inspiration. I decided to check your channel after seeing your comment and this bus drew me in. It's great to see younger people wanting to save old iron from the scrap heap and keep it alive. Kudos to you and I will continue to follow your journey.

I had a 292 y block in a 59 ford pu,the 292 y block had blocked oil passages and wouldn't allow oil to the top end.It was a common problem with the y block.I bought an oil by pass kit from a vintage auto parts store that forced oil from the rockers down.It worked.Came with two hollow valve cover bolts, one for each side that the oil flowed through.
@CountryBoyGasGarage3 жыл бұрын
Wow Awesome! I need that. This one isn't oiling well
@joesprague14643 жыл бұрын
@@CountryBoyGasGarage I have never been able to find an oil bypass on the internet or seen one since.However the only parts unique to the kit were the hollow valve cover bolts.You removed the oil sending unit from the engine block and replaced it with a needle valve to adjust the oil flow,ran copper lines to the hollow valve cover bolts.The hollow bolts had additional holes at the bottom of them that directed the oil flow to the rockers If the rockers started making noise you pulled over and adjusted the needle valve for more oil flow.

I love the vintage rounded body of the '40s vehicles! It's pretty nasty and corroded and that engine, man....that's going to need MAJOR reno or replacement. But yeah, fix it up, maybe paint it to get rid of the church bus logo. Probably make it better than the original person did! He was seriously living WAY off-grid, dude!
