4:14 Seeing the Fin which is slightly forked, its more likely an atlantic salmon but it also might be a browntrout - which, when are locked in proper lakes "turn" into lake trouts - still staying the same species " Salmo trutta fario" but adapting their lifestyle to the circumstances and morphologically adapt as well. They change their phenotype due to the circumstances. My bet is on the Salmon tho, the tailfin is more square on a browntrout. - great video btw

Love your work keep up the awesome filming. If you get small redies like that just gut them and cook them on a bed of coals when thier cooked peel the skin back and enjoy. And try cooking your trout wrapped in aluminium foil with a peeled banana in the gut cavity sprinkle pepper and salt. If you fold the foil over and roll all the sides in very tight when it puffs up like a pillow its perfectly cooked

It’s a silvery brown, you only catch atlantics in Jindabyne, Gaden trout hatchery release a few into it. Easy way to pick the species. Rainbow trout have spots on their tails, Brown trout only have spots on their sides not on their tails.

Another great video brotha😎👍 and by the way, i was shock to see that you caught a landlock Atlantic Salmon, hell didnt know they exist in down under. Anyway i caught them in New York, mostly in lakes and streams. The shape of the head and tail is a dead give away… rooster tail works great, fluorescent pink, orange and green work’s excellent, 1/16 to 1/8 oz. Works well at slow retrieve, just let it sink close to the bottom, then whip to activate the blade and retrieve… keep those video coming Bro, and be safe. God Bless…

Looked like a great relaxing trip mate, apart from the wind. Mate that wasn't a tiny Redfin, when I was living in Tassie I fished one lake and caught over a dozen redfin in an afternoon session and the largest was the size you got. The smallest was in all honesty 6cm long (if that). Did the right thing by the environment, law and fish by keeping them all and cooked them all that night at camp. Such a painful experience scaling and fileting those tiny fish in the rain. Definitely a memory I'll keep for some time 😕
