Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

I was expecting someone to make a supersonic airplane, just so they don't get shot out of the sky, only slowing down to shoot the rockets, then going "lightspeed" immediately. The supersonic activation would be on a separate key, which also activates flaps for slowing down rapidly, so you can aim the rockets, shoot the rockets, then bail/escape. Please make an air fight like that, with a timer, like once you slow down, you need to wait at least 10 seconds before speeding up again, but even when slowed down, you would still be able to move with roughly 50 km/h or 30 mph.

It takes a LOT of thrusters to get something going supersonic in Trailmakers. JB's plane was like half thrusters and it only topped out at like 400-450kph. (Supersonic: 1235kph)

Just FYI, the "flap wings" (the wings that provide lift and have the built in flap) produce *less lift* than the normal "modular wing" pieces by a *considerable ammount,* you can test this by having a modular wing and a flap wing side by side and notice how the center of lift shifts towards the modular wing.

Based on the previous video, you could probably make a massive morning star melee weapon by swinging a bunch of weight block around with a spinning magnet. Might be fun to have a brawl fight with those, though it might be very laggy.

Scrapman seems to underestimate the use of speed in almost all of the challenges. His use of redundancy and manoeuverability usually compensates for it but speed is still a powerful weapon!

I'd like to see a 1v1v1v1 tank battle with the never ending piston mortar tech that you discovered a while back .Some limitations would be: 5 projectiles (of your choice), 3 engines, and 150 blocks max. Love your videos!

Day 4: You should try a space dogfight, basically use mods for zero gravity, and make a space fighter with no blocks from the wing section(to simulate lack of atmosphere). The only method of control would be thrusters. Nighttime is optional, and set a power core and block limit. I believe that it could be fun and challenging.

I have an idea for a potential multiplayer video suggestion. It would be in the space map and would have an over powered kind of turret in the middle that would be modified to be able to support the space map it would not be able to move except for rotating, and everyone within a certain radius would have to avoid it using their own custom built spacecraft. All types of weapons would be allowed, but there would be a power core and that you would decide if anyone outside of that radius would be out in you would the time should be measured in terms of how long each person lasted before the turret was destroyed so in other words, just like this one, but with the space map and all of its properties

As a game developer, I cant even even begin to imagine how this game can handle that much weapons fire, let alone the sheer amount of projectiles. Edit: The initial fire may be smoothed out using a object-pooling system (something I found out about shortly after watching this video)

you guys should do a 2 vs 2 with 2 people controlling the sub 1 on weapons and one on driving and then on the other team 1 person controls a plane and the other is a missile that will track the sub that is attached to the plane and the other controls when the missile is released and also controls the plane longest surviving player wins

What about a, "Player-built bombs only challenge." No bomb bays, only player built bombs. That could mean drag bombs, guided bombs, or just a normal bomb. It's definitely possible to make that stuff in Trailmakers, I've even built a air-to-ground guided missile.

Day 4: Here's an idea, 3 of you make planes that chase someone in a car, and the planes are loaded with explosives, and the wings detach from the plane to turn into a missile-like thing! You try to hit the car before they hit you with some kind of air defense. The 3 planes would be VERY vulnerable because of the explosives, which is why there are 3!

Scrapman: what is the smallest collection of blocks that guns will lock onto... and can you use that plus detachable blocks to create active countermeasures so you can press a button and confuse enemy weapons with suddenly having multiple targets to lock onto?

Idea: Vehicle battle. Just build anything that will hopefully get you the win. Let's see Howmush destruction we can see when you're only limited to your imagination (and the 700 block limit). Maybe build a plane with 5 of every weapon? Maybe build a truck with 20 miniguns on the back. Or maybe build a submarine that can fly so you can hide under the water. I think it's will be fun too see what everyone comes up with.

I wanna see a bunker vs all vehicle types(air, water, and land vehicles) defense battle. It would be interesting to see how the defense team would defend against various different kinds of enemies as well as what kinds of assault vehicles the attackers would make.

You should try a minigun powered glider battle. The only form of thrust you guys can have being 2 (or maybe 4) miniguns pointing backwards. Otherwise it's a normal dog fight with smart canon> minigun> rocket progression.

A good idea for the anti air defense is only missiles with decoys (think pieces ejecting off at the start of the round onto the ground a few feet away)

Anti air submersible versus 3 semiaquatic planes. The planes are not submersible, but the cockpit won't toss you out. Or... The planes have to have the ability to land on water, and take off from it too.
