I don’t buy this one bit! Must be Ford haters. I’m on my 4th F-150 and only problem I’ve had on 1 was the mass air flow sensor which was a super cheap and easy fix. I am in love with my new 2022 F-150 V8. It feels very smooth compared to previous generations. It’s the most fun truck I’ve ever driven. Ford nailed it with the new generation. My buddy has a 2021 Ram Laramie Longhorn and I would NEVER trade mine for his. If anything, Ram has the worst reliability reputation out there along with the UGLY Titan.

F150 is designed for people that want a truck but expect it to drive like a luxury car. For those that have a 5 foot driveway and put off-road wheels on them.

I own a 2021 F-150 XLT I have 24,000 mi on it,no problems yet. But I will say the ride is not the best. I live on dirt roads and it is horrible on the washboard roads. The 10-speed kind of shits roughs in certain conditions not always. it will stay in 8th gear when going 35 and then give it gas it shifts to second or third and kind of makes a clunk, I don't like that. All of the car companies have this down to a science where you have to buy a new truck, a warranty or do a lot of maintenance when it gets old. they want you to buy a new car or truck every 5 years they don't want them to last 20 years unfortunately.

I was a die hard Mopar guy until 2015. I owned the F-150 (2015, 2019 and now 2022) F-150. I test drove trucks. This guy is biased...obviously. The 2022 F-150 FX4 is a smooth ride over the washboard dirt road. Smooth for me on the highway. my 2019 had some hard shifts...not on the 2022 Ford F-150 FX4 from experience so far. My wife owns a 2017 souped up Tahoe with a sport/tow package (22 rims with all terrains tires) and she now preferers my Ford truck.

I was thinking about ordering me a Lariat Hybrid soon. How's that 10 speed tyranny do? That's what I worry about considering I live in mountains in West Virginia where the roads are up and down and curvy where you're speeding up and slowing down alot. I hear that tranny shifts up and down a lot and it's aggravating and even worse in conditions like I mentioned. How's it been for you?

Seems rather obvious that a leaf spring truck has a rougher ride than it’s cool sprung competitors. I can say from first hand experience that the coil sprung trucks suffer greatly in the payload and towing department. If ride comfort is the top issue or complaint perhaps a pick up truck isn’t for you.
@waynenoll1967 Жыл бұрын
Exactly. If I’m reading a truck review and they’re talking about creature comforts like smooth ride, heated and vibrating seats, Apple CarPlay, etc., I’m thinking that maybe they should buy a sedan. I want my truck to be reliable and tough, with as little maintenance as possible. I do truck stuff with mine, not haul golf clubs.

I have a 2022 f150. The leaf spring suspension is the only way to tow the weight that it can. It is a pickup truck unlike the ram. The coyote doesn't turn off cylinders via purposely collapsing lifters like gm causing catastrophic engine failure between 25k and 75k milesThe 3.5 and 2.7 will need turbos before 60k so get the coyote and you solve the reliability issue. And at least ford are not claiming 10k lbs towing capacity with a 4 banger in a full size pickup...

I have a 2022 f150 lariat here in the Philippines. So far, i have a problem with the following; 1. Low power will lit up everytime I go on a 15 minute downhill. 2. Persistent Leak apparently coming from the sunroof. 3. Rainwater from the sunroof damaged the overhead lights. 4. 3rd & 4th gear transmission jerking. 5. Airconditioning compressor not working anymore. Note that odometer is still at 36k kilometers. It’s a beauty but it gives me a headache. 😢😢😢

The jitter is real. I always described it as a jiggle rather than a jitter but every test drive I have been on I noticed it right away. It’s the only reason I have yet to buy a f150 after considering it multiple times and choosing ram twice instead but I think I may give it a shot anyway for my next truck because GM can’t even make simple lifters that don’t fail anymore so I had to ditch my 21 trail boss. Got a 2021 Titan pro4x and the trans began slipping at 900 miles. Now I’m in a gladiator and this thing is way too small to be getting 14mpg. The new ram is just plain ugly compared to the old ram classic IMO and so is the new tundra compared to the old v8 tundra so I guess I’ll see if I can get used to the Ford jitter next lol. I honestly don’t have much faith in new trucks anymore. Seems like there’s always something wrong with them from day one.

My 2018 F150 XLT Supercrew FX4 with the 5.0 and 20" wheels rides perfectly smooth and very quiet. Others who have been in it have commented how nice it rides. No idea what you or CR is referring to about jitters and jiggle.
@Jay-bw3fl2 жыл бұрын
@@kevinbreese5739 sounds like something a f150 owner would say lol no but really the jiggle is something you could easily overlook and just get used to. I just notice it since I have had all the other trucks which are smoother riding than the fords.

They came out with those outboard mounted shocks which common Sense will tell you have to have looser valving because of where they're located. You get that truck on a washboard surface while making a turn and the rear end will Buck out from under you. It's embarrassing

Interesting. So why was it ranked so high in 2021?
@ramrider14532 жыл бұрын
Ranked as the best selling truck. Doesn’t mean it’s the best in quality and it’s not… believe it or not Ram got ahead of Ford. Took a long time but they have. People I know and myself have seen over the years of the decline of reliability and quality. My thoughts and I believe this rating for sure.

I don't know anything about the new Rams, but I had a 97 for 24 years. I nursed it to get it this far but I would not buy another Ram. Some of the things that happened to it were totally unacceptable. I recently bought a 23 F150 STX for a price 7.5K under value. I can tell in one month my F150 is a better truck than my Ram ever was. But to be fair back then they didn't come with all the gadgets we have now, which I am not a fan of anyway. I am apprehensive about these eco boost engines. Time will tell.

I had a 2022 F150 Lariat. The transmission is terrible. Hunted for gears and would downshift so hard it would startle me and I would think someone rear ended me. Took it in with less than a thousand miles and they had to “reset the learning function” of the transmission. That didn’t help. Then I looked under the body and all I saw was rust ! On a brand new truck! Sure the body is aluminum but the frame, muffler hangers, drive shaft, rear end, etc, just orange rust !!! They said “it’s just surface rust, lol. I traded it for a Silverado…..

I have to say also I and 2 fuel pumps go out on my ram in 30k miles. 0 problems with my 2019 f-150 5.0 0 problems with my 21 f150 3.5 ecoboost and I have 18k on my 22 f150 and have broke 2 axel retainer bolts. We farm and I hand down the vehicles so we still have all but the Yukon. The Yukon from the start had stereo and connectivity problems. Problems with the leather in the center console. I kept having problems with the airbag and seatbelts not working we ultimately sold it because of that. Didn’t feel safe with the family if the seatbelts didn’t work we had it in the shop about 7 times in a year. Now we have a Kia carnival believe it or not and actually very happy with it. All the vehicles are overpriced. The Kia and the ram were good buys but since I’ve had the ram, they’ve gone up a lot
