The suggestion to move yourself away is always no:1 and forget about the ego, but if that's not possible (you can be locked in a garage or corneded or have a child with you) then better to strike first. Side of neck, solar plexus or groin are obvious targets if available (stike to opponents head risks serious injury and you in prison). Buy yourself 60 seconds and get out of there. Remember that you never know who/what the opponent is. He can be skinny and short but a carrier or a psychopath determined to destroy the both of you. Stay safe!

In most situations, there is the opportunity to walk away! Don't be a victim of your own ego!! If you have to stay put, keep at least arms length from the opponent and put up a "fence" to maintain distance
@pharaohsmagician8329Ай бұрын
Feeling like a victim forever will kill your self confidence and lower your quality of life drastically and that weakness will make you look like an easier target and attract even more threats who see you as easy game to punk. Sometimes you need to fight and hurt the enemy so you can carry yourself better as someone who's not weak and being tested all the time. That's why it's important to train martial arts so you can control your ego and learn to do healthy ego boosting and healthy ego release in a gym environment. So you can maintain your pride in the gym, and not be okay to lose it on the streets. Because and I speak from experience living as a coward is the worst way to live it attracts so much more bad people and makes life awful. A coward dies a 100 deaths a Man only dies once. Denying the importance of your pride is the same as denying your self respect. Look at anyone who always walks away from conflict and you see a person with a miserable life. The strong people who can avoid conflict and walk away with no loss to self respect, is because they've already handled enough violence by returning the violence they no longer feel the need to prove it to random people. That's the important thing. These martial artists saying walk away already have built their ego by NOT walking away hence they can say it. Ask a coward to keep walking away, and that's when disasters happen when he can no longer stomach the disrespect and does something drastic. It's much better to avoid jail, by getting into small fights early so you can deter future threats by not looking like easy prey. Because if you keep on walking away eventually you'll be forced into a situation where you need to use much more deadly force and the punishment for that is much worse than the punishment for the small act of violence had you just stood up for yourself early. In an effort to avoid 5 stitches some people end up with 10 stitches and many years in prison.

*Loud=Safe* *Silence=Danger* If in public, add your own noise once an attack comes. It sounds unmanly sometimes, but if you are outnumbered, get as much attention as you can, that will greatly increase the odds in your favor in coming out of it unscathed. Because even on their end, they will be loud to show off, in an attempt to scare you or anyone else, but when they get quiet, you should get loud. Because their quiet proceeds their action, and it can happen in less than a second unless you can keep distance. Nature of the beast basically. It almost always starts with "chest thumping" when dealing with untrained or insecure individuals, which is mostly what you will face in the streets. They may be experienced, but their noise reveals their weakness. And also becomes your strength. Your noise can potentially save you without any bl00d being shed.

I saw this happen a few meters in front of me a few days ago and it made me wonder.. Kicking the front wheel is the best I think because they loose the steering then, but when kicking it they steer away from you and fall in your direction. I was thinking again and decided it's probably better to 'give' them your foot and then when they hit it, to pull away your leg. This way they will fall but, due to the motion, to the other side and away from you. For sure you have to pull away you foot the moment they hit it and before their whole weight comes upon it. I ride bike myself so I know that the front wheel is the way you manouvre a bicycle.

While it's probably necessary in a KZbin video to talk about the legal aspects of striking first, the rule I learned more than forty years ago is very simple: strike first, keep striking until your assailant(s) cannot possibly harm you, and then get the heck out of Dodge. Arguing in a Court about whether or not you were justified in your actions is a losing proposition. The law is a joke, the police want a prosecution, the judge will be clueless, and the jury won't have a clue about real-world dangers. So avoiding the legal problems by leaving the scene asap is generally a good move. Better still if you have managed to note any CCTV cameras and positioned yourself appropriately to obscure your face. As for eye witnesses - unless they know you personally, for every three eye witnesses the police will get at least four totally different descriptions of events.

If you are confident that you can take the guy and no weapons are involved, give a quick hard shove and then put your hands up. I have done that knowing the guy will not be able to control himself and will engage. Then you are in a fight and not at risk of assault as long as you don't go too far. If the guy ends up pulling a weapon, get out of there end of story. Grab a chair to keep him at a distance so you can get away. The legality is so often what causes noble tough guys to hesitate in these situations and pay for it so having a harmless go to like a hard shove and then dukes up can simplify things. Quick, simple and decisive action that has already been preprogrammed through training ahead of time really helps calm down theses situations as mistakes can be minimized from the confusion. This guy views it through the eyes of someone experienced with violence but most of us will get too overwhelmed with nerves when a confusing, non straightforward escalation emerges unexpectedly and we become overwhelmed and hesitate. Retreating, vocal de-escalation, or engaging are extremely time sensitive and to ensure you make the right choice is to have very clear cut boundaries and specific responses, both vocal and physical, to specific situations for simplicity sake. Simplicity will save you in times of uncertainty.

Minimal force necessary to stop the situation is the law in Canada I believe and sounds sensible to me.

If you connect you are one big punch ahead, as often as not that ends a fight. If not you are still ahead. Where I live we still fight sometimes, mostly the police gets left out of it. The biggest thing in a fight though is being willing to see it through if you can not scare your opponant straight off. It is still best to walk away if you can, tis better to loose face than teeth, so to speak, or get into trouble.

But before you do, look out for cctv and those pesky witnesses that are filming you

Brilliant and great advice... The law backs up what you said about hitting first...

In some jurisdictions!

@jans724 Interesting, please elaborate?? In the UK, if you feel you're in danger, you can hit first if someone approaches you aggressively and you believe you're going to be attacked, you respond accordingly, the law in the UK, is use minimal force.. One aggressive approach, one punch, push etc..
@jans724Ай бұрын
@@snakeman9902 Yes same where I live but it really comes down to what the judge/court considers reasonable. They may see it very differently than you if you have a few seconds to decide. I've seen cases that seem obvious self-defense but the guy gets prison anyway. So yes minimal. But in the end you rather face the court than serious injury so you do what you have to do.

@jans724 Yeah, it is situation pending .. Our country is one of the most watched country in the world, so cctv. Witnesses, etc..(if the authorities can be bothered) would be good evidence, is the attacker known to the police? Does he have a history of aggression? If the attacker comes to you, your home, etc, that usually is enough to go in your favour. However, I agree that when it comes to court, nothing is absolute,

@@snakeman9902Yes, any aggressive move towards you, invasion of your space is considered an assault. "Reasonable" force. Whatever that may be interpreted as. But that would depend on the circumstances, and refers more to not mashing the guy after you have stopped the attack. So NO PUTTING THE BOOT IN! There are of course plenty more ways of stopping an attacker than smashing him in the face. Taking out a kneecap or shin with a kick, using the side of your hand to "slap"/chop the side of the face/neck. Swiftly tapping the sternum, temples, ribs or any other sensitive part of the body REPEATEDLY and in quick succession . It helps if you learn some immobilising techniques with these as they obviously aren't K.O moves. Kick behind the knee to drop the attacker onto his knees. Always keep out of his centre and try and keep moving around him. And/or RUN!!! 😆

Well when you are 71 years old ? Run if I can, well walk away!

1 reason to stop making blanket statements THEY ARE STUPID sometimes u go first sometimes second it all depends on situation and what is happening and has happened
@gothops2632Ай бұрын
How about grabbing the guy in front of you by the neck with one hand?
