300zx KA24de Power Check! + 240sx Progress

I have been curious as to how much power my Nissan 300zx z32 project car with a junkyard ka24de swap makes. Today it hits the dyno and we get answers.
Smokes continues to weld the Cage Kits Cage into the S13 240sx restoration. The Nissan Gloria Y32 begins making an interesting noise, any ideas?

For the roll cage I definitely agree with the blue, but I like the idea of white too. They make alot of flake maybe throw some white looking flake in the paint for the cage

for anti-glare reasons, paint the cage black or dark charcoal grey. The darker the color, the less glare back you will get, think of it as looking thru a white screen compared to a black one.

I heard exactly the same sound when the cross joint from the driveshaft(on my toyota pickup truck) was partially broken .... Only on forward gear unde load... I suggest check your driveshaft if it has any play...

So what the noise can be, because you said it goes away on left turns, but not on right turns. The clip that holds the axle into to the shaft that goes in the wheel could be gone. We've had this on our track car, but granted the sounds that came out of there were WAY harder, but when we took a right turn* it went away, and on left turns (because the axle tube is pulling out of the shaft that goes in the wheel) it started to make noise. *= on our car the noise was on the right side, but somewhat similar to the clipping sound you hear Because also when we had no load on the wheel, it made no noise what so ever! Hopefully this can help you in some way! :)

I knew someone who had a noise on turns, due to an aftermarket 5 studs conversion, the wheel bearings had just enough play to move under load but not enough so you could move them by hand on the wheel. On each half turn of the front wheel, they were shifting when the load shifted from one side of the wheel to the other. Took quite a time to troubleshoot. The hubs were not machined with the right dimensions. He ended up using some retaining compound to "glue" them, and make for the slightly higher tolerance on the hubs.

Nice to see a Nissan Skyline R34 25GT Four. They're basically the "better versions" as opposed to a GTT since they are closer to a GTR in terms of AWD. And yes, it is a Manual transmission version. Its Automatic transmission counterpart is called a 25GT-X Four, which shares a similar setup with one of the higher trim levels of the Nissan Stagea. of course, it's a 4-speed automatic transmission while the Stage counterpart has a 5-speed automatic.

I had almost the same noise happen to my truck and it ended up being a wheel bearing. However, it is wierd that it only hapens under load with the gloria. Definitely rotational so I think you are on the right track with the axel. Just take a look at the whole hub while your in there too, might be time for a refresh anyway

check your wheel weights, had a similar noise after changing everything, it was a weight that had come 1/2 unstuck and would move up and down slightly making a tapping sound with every rotation at faster than walking pace

Modern high end turbos sized correctly for the engine they are boosting have almost no lag.

A supercharger would be interesting but very limited in potential compared to a turbo, especially on a 4 cylinder

Just to say the good part of a supercharger is the fact is has the power of a tubocharger car while having the smoother and plesure driving of a NA car. We dont see superchargers on Ka's so it would be an interesting type of project.

The tapping sound from the gloria might be a small chunk of tire touching the inner rear arch, especially if it goes away when there is decompression on the rear left corner
