Sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Handful of times over my career I have actually completely taken apart the air handler like that and folded the case in a triangle to get it into attics and crawl spaces. Keep up the great work.

The 2-5 ton air handlers strip down pretty easy. The hardest I've had to do was a 7.5 ton Trane TWE air handler on a commercial installation. I had to completely disassemble it and carry it piece by piece above a floating ceiling and reassemble it. Even then the blower assembly barely fit. The 2 foot by 4 foot coil was pretty tricky too. Nice work and great job team.

Reminds me on a builder install. The heat pump ducted was heating the roof space as they used pvc tape on what I think is a high static pressure line and it blew off the pvc tape. I had to remove the roof to get to the indoor unit to re-tape the the duct back on.😒

Nice job Mikey. That looked like a Woodsburgh job. My uncle was the police commissioner there years ago when they had their own police department. They shut that experiment down cause it cost them too much money. Looks like every part of that job fought you. Climbing in that attic hole looks like it sucked! Been there done that many times. I think I would have opted to use a stick or two of 3/4" pvc to guide that line set through there instead of climbing in the hole. Another possible method would of been fiberglass fish poles that electricians often use. They come in sets of 3, 6 foot sections that screw together to get you 18 feet through an attic or wall and they're pretty flexible. Thanks for feeding us today. One of these days I'm going to stop by your office in the morning to pick up some stickers and maybe purchase a few shirts. God bless...and FJB!

Yo I usually doube wrap it ,with a combo of tape(foil and or vinyl)and spray glue. Gotta let the glue get tacky before you press down for it to stick better. (Although apparently air space increases the R value). Nice install! Glad to see a team work together!

use pvc pipe as a temporary guide and protector to feed the line-set into the attic past the nails and sharp corners, once it's in place just slide the pvc off the outdoor end. the hole through soffit needs to be slightly larger so the pipe can fit and be at steep enough angle to clear everything and not jam up. you can use flexible pvc "pool/spa pipe" and even leave it in place as a protector.

20:20 I think you need so flexible fiberglass rods to fish a rope to that hole to then attach to the line set to then pull through that area without you getting in there! All the network cables I have run in attics and walls, I am lets just say big boned and at 6'5" as well I wouldn't fit in that little tiny hole! 😁 I have a whole section of fish tapes, rod, poles, wires etc. That would come in handy here for sure, and save your back. 👍

Be sure to install a liquid line solenoid that's quite a drop for liquid to go into the outdoor units on shut down equalization. Run the risk of slugging and burn out. Seen it many times here in San Antonio TX. Yes I saw how the line set was installed but the solenoid would add protection.
