Is it pretty normal as an intermediate lifter to not get horribly sore shoulders,but just super tired after a lift. I have tried to isolate more and more,but dont notice extreme soreness. I do lots of reps and alt between heavy and light

Depends whether you are a beginner or not. Usually around 3-5kg for beginner, 8-12kg for experienced lifters.It is better to do higher reps. I was struggling a lot with side delts but thanks to resistance bands and 4kg dumbbells I made some gains. Most people tend to go heavy on this but their traps is doing most of the work. Go light and high reps !
