Tip...turn the broth carton around so that the spout is up( um...toward the ceiling vs. toward the floor) and it won't splatter. ❤from 🇨🇱

To the Cajun pasta soup, I think I'd add some celery and bell pepper too for the holy Trinity. Also, my husband didn't want me to add onions to recipes so I would just grate or puree the onions to where he couldn't see them and he would gobble it all down swearing how good it was. 😂. That's the gift you should give yourself, Jess.

I agree! I’d also add some cut up pieces of browned andouille sausage;)

That is so funny. My father “hated onions”, and my mom used to do that 😂. To the point, when she made onion dip, she renamed it cheese dip. I’m 62, and I thought it was called cheese dip until I was around 20 years old 🤪! What we don’t do to use ingredients that are actually pivotal to a recipe’s taste, all the while they’re loving it and don’t even realize it. I learned from the best and did such that when my kids were younger. My father actually died not knowing he actually did like onions 😂! She did it with garlic as well. She used a small grater so it was like paste and just melted in. Thank you, you gave me a smile and a really funny memory. Bless you 🙏❤️!

Jessica you totes gotta try making your own stock. Just take the leftover carcass from a rotisserie chicken add garlic, onion, celery boil it all down for an hour or two, then pour through a strainer - it’s so easy and will take these soups up another notch. You can add seasonings and a smidge of the better than bouillon. It is life changing. Once you do it, boxed broth will seem like expensive water to you. Bunky broth. 😊

The Cajun chicken soup is mellowed out from the pepper seasoning due to the cream you added. Any dairy will calm down any hot, peppery seasoning.

I love making my soups in the Crock Pot and the Instant Pot. It uses less electricity by not having the stove going. I agree with Bunkey about the No sodium, then you can add the amount you want. I have HBP issues so the less salt the better.

I am so excited to find someone that doesn't love onions! I want to, I really do, but I just don't like onions and most recipes I see call for onions so this was just the best thing to see! (I usually puree my onions to keep the flavor or do what you did and cook with them for a bit but pull them out)

Your very right Bunkey, when you use no salt products then you yourself are in control of your own salt for seasoning. Some people have to be careful how much salt they eat in their dishes. We’re cutting back on our salts, myself especially as I’m older now( 70) and have to be careful. I let us kinda salt our own foods at each meal.

We LOVE that tortellini soup! I make it at least once a month. The flavors are so good, and I pretty much always have those ingredients on hand (I like to keep a bag of cheese tortellini in my freezer!) I'd suggest using hot Italian sausage. The extra spice levels it UP! Also the leftovers are incredible!!!

Jessica, I just wanted you to be aware that there is a new study on heart and stroke issues with erythritol. I loved MR too, but once I looked at all my supplements I realized they all had erythritol in them. I’m hoping they will change the formulary on their products to a safer sweetener replacement. In the meantime, I switched to different products. I know they sponsored this video, but for you and Bunky, keep this in mind. Especially if you have any family members with heart or stroke issue. It’s interesting that the company is found of the very issue. Love your channel!

I have a tip you might like to try. When I was on Keto diet, my onion was very limited & I start a lot of meals with peppers & onion. So to get the maximum flavor of onions in my cooking I put one choped onion in a Mason jar & filled it with olive oil. Kept it in fridge & spooned out the flavored oil with or without the actual onion. Worked great!

These soups look amazing Jessica!😍 Look at you girl, eating soup and allowing onion to be cooked in a pot where other ingredients are going to cook!😘 I know how you feel, I don't like the texture of onion either. But my sister and I are eating together a lot and I'm letting her put larger pieces of onions in dishes we're making. If any show up in my food, I can scrape it off to the side.😋 If you're ever making a vegetable or hamburger soup that's tomato based, you might want to try V8 as the liquid. It gives a nice vegetable flavor and is never bitter. I can't believe you've gone so long without eating soup. I spent several years of eating a lot of soup because of having lots of jaw surgeries and I couldn't eat soup again for a while. But I'm finally enjoying it again so it's always nice to get new recipes!😚 You were talking about getting ready for soup since the weather is cooling down. It was a bit cooler today but mostly from heavy cloud cover and it did drop down to 96°. It was the first time we've had temperatures under 100° in many months. We also haven't seen rain in almost 3 months but we finally have a chance in the next few days!☺️ And maybe if we get rain and the temperature drops below 80° this weekend, it might be a good time for soup!😁 I just love it when you share new recipes!🤩 And I love you two cooking together! Thanks for sharing another great video!🥰

By the way i haven’t watched enough to know if you dont like onions cause of a texture or taste thing but i NEVER ate onions till about 10 years ago. Im 53 and i loooove the sweet onions, its all i will use, it gives me the onion flavor in all recipes but i never have that sharp taste that i find comes from the other onions.
