Good job ! When I started backpacking , I did several trips to the knobstone. I got my butt handed to me every time. I’ve never done the whole trail and I need to make plans to do it sometime, but memories of sore feet keep me from doing it! Thanks for sharing!

I hear you. My feet were blistered and I don't know why I never showed that. Guess I like to keep my stuff a little positive.

The hill you call the beast is exactly that. Shed many tears walking up that today and many others haha

Great video! We're planning this hike in the fall this year, doing the Tecumseh in less than two weeks to help prepare for the KT. Great info, thanks for sharing.

Can you let me in on a little more information about this trip? Trying to go there at the end of the month. I heard the water is hard to find? What section/camp/trails did you do and stay at?
@jayclay19 жыл бұрын
Water was no problem for us. I think spring time the creeks are usually flowing, just in the dryer months after July it might be scarce. As far as camp spots I think we stayed at miles 10.5, 21, 32. There are good water sources at the 21 and 22 spots. 1st night we carried our water about a mile to camp. Hope this helped.

Thanks very much. It does help!

Awesome, hope you have a good trip. By the way I just thought, mile marker 36 is terribly marked. Get a good map and I'd advise you to stick to the logging trail.

Fantastic video Sir! I'm planning on hiking the entire trail for the first time in May and it definitely provided some insight on what to expect. My only concern is water. Did you rely strictly on streams or did you cache some water also? Thank you for sharing your adventure.
@jayclay19 жыл бұрын
Thanks! We got all our water from the creeks. If you are going around spring there should be no issues with water as long as it's been raining. We never had an issue with it. Summer and fall may be a different story. It's a good, tough trail. Hope you enjoy it.

Nice video! Me and a friend are planning on doing this trail this year. If you ever need a hiking partner let me know, haven't done many yet, but working on it.

Thanks for the offer, I always prefer company to going it alone. I recommend trying trail for the experience. I whined a lot in the video but I had really bad blisters on my feet from Ill-fitting, wet boots. All of ups and down just killed them.

Yeah I looked into those and other liner socks. I'll for sure be wearing some different boots the next time around.

I dropped my down Marmot sleeping bag in Pixely Knob Rd creek, lol.... Bone dry! Praise Him!... I told someone else I don't think there is a down, it's all up! lol...

JayClason :it was flowing good that day, but we're talking 98 or 99. I'm sure that tornado made it look like a war zone. This year, I'm going to start on the Tecumseh Trail, I helped make some of that. It's been too long since I've been 9th the trail, a lot of life changing events, so it's time and 15-20yr old gear needs replaced with lighter better stuff! Got my ENO and a Warbonette SUPERFLY! Later Mark...
