This video was filmed in a rustic artisan-built loft home in Oaxaca, Mexico during my month in Plaza Zipolite. There were no walls, and that's why you can hear all the sounds of the neighborhood including the restaurant across the street, some very expressive tropical birds, the neighbors washing their dishes, motorbikes revving up on the street, and more.

nice to explore all angles and corners of the poses. I landed up in half sphinx/frog after doing gecko on the elbows which I like the most instead of dragon. Thx 😍🤩😍

I LOVE your dirty yin 😂 Please make more of these! This idea of gently moving in yin poses has been so helpful. I have severe fatigue since I had COVID 2 years ago, and I can no longer do vinyasa, but I often feel the need for more movement than just yin. These somatic yin classes are just the thing! Thank you!!! 💙

This was great. Please, do a somatic yin with blocks and bolsters. That lizard pose was so hard.

I really enjoyed the “dirty yin!” It opened up sticky areas in my body in a delicious way! Could you perhaps do another class like this during one of your weekly live KZbin sessions? I absolutely love your teaching style. What a wonderful gift you offer to the world!

That was lovely. It was my first time doing that kind of yin class. I usually do little movement in reclined pigeon pose.

Hi Devi, I LOVED this class ! It's less intimidating for me than a traditional yin class (I'm so on the yang side that I'm scared by stillness🙄🙄). I felt comfortable to dare to try variations of the poses, and sometimes you cued those variations AFTER I found them working for me (I'm a bit proud to have been absle to do smg right in a field that is still new to me😀). And it's great that you give some adjectives to your classes ; it helps to chose which one could be perfect for some day or the other ! Thank you 🙏

Really, really liked this! Body appreciated combo of lots of movement and moments of stillness. As someone with longstanding neck issues, never been keen on 'thread the needle' (more comfortable when shifting into 'rolling panda'). What are suitable alternatives to 'ttn'? As usual, tacked on my own, low-mat flow to achieve longer morning practice.

Glad you liked it! A good alternative to thread the needle pose is graceful bow, which is a simple tilt of the head from a seated position. It is covered in some of my other videos.

@@DeviDalyYoga Thanks. I do Graceful Bow every day in my own practice. Sometimes with forearm wrapped to lower back to extend the stretch (but more safely) so similar to options of 'TTN.'

P.S. : 1st time I feel soooo thirsty after a class (I almost always eat the same), is that a normal reaction ?

Yin is a lot like massage, in that it has a lubricating effect on the joints and fascia fascia. As your body absorbs more fluid into the fascia and joint spaces, it makes sense you might feel thirsty. It means your yin practice is working! It’s the same reason we’re always told to drink plenty of water after getting a massage.
