True crime. Real justice. "48 Hours" investigates the most intriguing crime and justice cases that touch on all areas of the human experience including greed and passion. "48 Hours," which premiered in 1988, has developed a rich history of original reporting and impact journalism that has helped exonerate wrongly convicted people, caused cold cases to be reopened and solved, and along the way changed lives.

My goodness this is so sad! I pray for this mother and little girl, I would hope this rich family would extend their finances to help pay for this beautiful little girl to Grow up happy and healthy and have all the benefits and privileges she should have. Just because her father was a monster shouldn't destroy her legacy. These women who come here to America and marry these wealthy men that they honestly know nothing about are asking for trouble. You can't buy happy ever after. Money is the root of all evil, not the key to happy ever after. If you think money will make you happy you are sorely mistaken. You need to find a stable, secure, sane, happy, individual with morals and respect to build a happy life. Money can't buy that. It is only a shield That can fool you. Wake up.

@@hollyhope7227 If the lawyer is a public defender they work for the state; therefore, they have to take any client their assigned. Our legal system requires a vigorous defense, or the lawyer is in trouble with their licensing board. Most know their client is guilty, but that is not the point - that judgement is for the jury. The lawyer just has to defend them, and see that they are given a fair trial (all the rules are obeyed.) Most of the time they have to come up with elaborate lies, and they know it, but that is the system. The defendent deserves representation. In this case, it's obvious she didn't try too hard; she knew he'd get convicted.

@@zorski1788 she was a quality woman who wanted a guy “notches higher”, meaning A LOT more income, hence gold digging. I bet she didn’t even try to get to know this guy too well. She should have sticked to a decent guy who’s at her level, but she and most women throw themselves to rich guys easily and this is what happens. Because successful men don’t have any incentive whatsoever to keep women lower than them, either. Evil guys like him will therefore treat women who came easy like 🦀 Good guys will be tired of them and go for another easy pick-up. Woman is not the only gender group that doesn’t want to be with someone less successful.

It has nothing to do with the country or money. There's plenty of victims of domestic violence in Ukraine too, same as in America or in any other country. Read the statistics and you'll see victims are from all backgrounds, poor, wealthy, educated etc. Same the perpetrators are from all backgrounds and from all countries. It's not about the gender either, it can go both ways.
