For tip 3, collecting, make sure to use your slingshot for all berries and fruits. It'll level up and you'll get noticeably better and more drops. Also, for things that are in impossible to reach places (could be drops, or even proverbs/recipes), you can reel them in with your fishing rod.

To go with that first tip, there’s an in-game ‘direction hint’ system called ‘Thatterway,’ which can direct you to either general quest area or the mailbox of the quest giver once accomplished, so long as it is bound to the Thatterway in the quest logs. The map remains useful for finding anyone’s home location, stores, area exits and transport locations even without needing a quest to be involved. Additionally, the Task boards (there are more than one) initially show every regular town event that happens on a schedule, and selecting them auto-adds them to your calendar. _Also_ , tasks don’t seem to have a hard time limit, so feel free to grab quests at every opportunity (it restocks daily) so long as you feel comfortable doing so. It _can_ quickly get overwhelming, but so long as nothing untimely happens, you can still fulfill the task later. On that note, there are three possible rewards from tasks; brass (the currency), Friendship Points, and Hints (whether Proverbs, Recipes, or Uses for various ingredients). The first two seem to be the default rewards, with Hints seemingly tied to whether or not you wind up completing the quest using the quest-giver’s mailbox. … One more thing. When completing quests in-person, there seems to be a random chance for the quest-giver to give actual hints as to what someone else ‘likes’ or ‘dislikes.’ So far they don’t seem to _lie_ about it, even if they don’t have a positive relationship score with you, and there’s a chance the quest giver themselves ‘like’ or ‘dislike’ the thing they asked you to get _for_ them, but that will not affect the quest reward (that is, someone can dislike, hate, or love the thing they asked you to get for them, but you’ll still get the posted reward instead of a negative shift in Friendship Points).

Furthermore (that one was getting long), if you have the resources, give gifts at _every_ opportunity you feel like doing so. The things you might wind up having the most of, seem to be the ‘safe’ things to gift (such as strawberries, or carrots), but keep in mind not everyone is on the same page (some might loathe apples, or ‘say’ something about sneaking gas apples to animals in dialogue but actually hate being given one).

Don't forget to use the sickle for gathering crops and dandelions. Like the slingshot it will level up and give you a bonus to what you collect

In the first two weeks since your just in the prologue I don't think you get curses. However after the prologue I spent a week filling out the map and came back k to an overgrown farm, rotten apples, no berries, and no honey :' D

i cant figure out how to cook without overcooking. cant turn down the fire. all the online guides are outdated. very frustrating. currently i just keep alt+f4 trial and error but always overcook because i cant figure out the mechanic. Basil [herbs] takes too long to chop. vege will overcook in 10sec, basil takes 15sec to chop. I cant turn down the fire. wtf

That stew, right? It seems like you have to watch the hour glass timers at the top, and when the sand of your current ingredient is even with what's already in the pot is when you add it. I haven't mastered it yet :(

@@MakeWayForCat yes, the stew. the problem is chopping up the basil takes too long. i just used 3 star materials, start with basil (let it overcook) then put in the lettuce then tomato. it is overcook but at least it is 2 stars :(

@@orionhan2431 For the basil (any ‘herb’ ingredients, honestly), save them for last since they have the lowest cook time; since everything else can take longer, you can afford to spend more time chopping away at the herbs. I’ve found that ‘chopping’ a couple of times works, the holding down the blade and swinging from side to side gets the rest pretty quickly, but there could be more efficient ways that I have not yet figured out. Been able to get +1 instead of 0 or -1 to minigame score for it recently.

For herbs, are you slicing or chopping? Because just spamming the button a couple of times followed by a slice or two, will have it completely minced in ~2 seconds.
