I can only share from my own experience. It’s been 3 1/2 weeks since fully carnivore. I am on a health journey to reverse my diabetes 2. I went from a blood glucose level of 236 down to a range of 81 fasting to 120 after meals. I’ve never felt better! My dr was absolutely giddy when I saw her the other day. I’ve lost 13 lbs (I walk also) and my nighttime insulin was cut in half. She predicts I’ll be off insulin within another three weeks. My blood pressure med is also being reduced. For once I’m excited to get blood work done in two months for updated A1c (my last was 9.7). All my previous cravings for carbs is gone! Amazing! This is real folks! My best wishes to others on this same journey.

Congrats on your success! What kind of doctor puts a type 2 diabetic on insulin??? Type 2 isn't about not having enough insulin, that's type 1. Type 2 is about too much insulin and your cells being resistant to it!! Care to share your progress 4 months later? Would love to know your current A1C. All the best on your continued health journey...❤

you'd think not following others was a given, seeing as following others is what leads to "the food pyramid" and diets full of processed carbohydrates and vegetable fats... But humans are herd animals, they're just a bit more free than most herd animals in choosing which herd they want to belong to. @lauriedominici11872 жыл бұрын
I tried pork rinds today because I was missing the crunch that you don't get from eating all meat. It is a game changer. Not only do pork rinds give me the crunch that I need to have occasionally, the texture, as I am chewing, reminds me of carbs and satisfies the carb craving without having to eat carbs. I am only 4 days in and I already feel better. I love veggies but I was one of those people who always felt somewhat bloated after eating them. Funnily enough, even though I have been overweight my whole life, my blood panels always come out perfect. However, I do have other issues like arthritis in my knees and vericose veins. I am hoping that the removal of any inflammation causing food will help with those conditions, and, of course, the weight loss would be nice. I did not ease into the carnivore lifestyle. I just decided to do it and go all in from day 1. The first 2 days were the worst with the carb cravings, but each day gets easier and easier. What' really nice is that, in actuality, it is really saving us money because now if I don't plan my meals ahead, I don't get to eat because I have no meat cooked. Now, with the carnivore lifestyle, we rarely eat out, and I plan my meals ahead, always making sure that I have meat defrosted, so that I can make sure that there is something for me to eat. It's saving us money because we are not eating out all the time.

#1 thing that helps us is smoking all our meats, no organ meats and very spicy hotlinks. Don't cut off the fats on steaks or pork either. Avoid all nuts, cheese, all sugars an creamers even heavy cream. Just water an smoked meat, once a day, same time of day after 1-2 days fasting an just distilled water. If you need fiber we just added more water. To me the fasting was the kicker, soon going 72hrs. I'm 46 work in construction and have more energy then the 20 yr olds at the jobsite

I've only been eating a carnivore diet for 2-1/2 weeks. Went cold turkey from a SAD diet. I've felt a little queasy and not excited about eating MORE meat, lol. But I know I'm just starting and will try to keep on keeping on. You set me free by saying I don't have to choke down liver. (Do some folks actually eat it raw?) I do take dried beef liver capsules. An easy way to get those nutrients. I also appreciate your encouragement to eat what we like so it's sustainable. So far my faves are thin cut pork chops, eggs and bacon. When I get the hang of not overcooking my burger patties I'll probably like those more, ha ha. Have a great journey everyone! (My daughter is doing carnivore, too. The camaraderie helps a lot!) I agree with all you said. After I started keto, I went carnivore. After months on only meat, I reintroduced Avocado, something I really missed. It's working for me. Because I was lied to by the US food conglomerates since birth, I underwent gastric bypass in the early 90's. Only worked short term. I'm retired now and have the luxury of time. That's what has allowed me to research and choose the lifestyle with which I can now live. Since I can't seem to take in enough potassium daily, 3x a week I eat a garlic, mushroom, spinach stir fry in butter. I'm basically 23/1 (OMAD) but it's a L.O.N.G. one hour. I can't eat as much as someone without a gastric bypass so I have to eat slowly and continually for 60 minutes! Worth it all! 62. Off all meds. Down 30 lbs. I'm never leaving.

I find your channel to be very informative, and I started carnivore 3 weeks ago today. I'm down 24 lbs. At first I lost all the water weight. Then I messed around with eating twice a day and fasting 16 hours. That did ok, but I found some days I was eating and I wasn't hungry. So I went to one good-sized meal a day and went back to burning weight again. Then I got stuck at the same weight for 3 days and then started to walk a couple miles a day and stick to 1 meal, and that seemed to start the weight loss again. No inflammation is amazing, and I have ulcerative colitis, and since I started, not one flare. This is tough for me, I dont eat fish, and I don't like the texture of really fatty meat, so I'm just adding butter to most things that are too lean. I find it to be quite boring, but I have a bad relationship with food because of my disease. I hope my progress can continue at a decent pace but it has slowed down quite a bit. First week was 13 lbs. Then another 11 lbs over 2 weeks. Which is fine by me.

I’ve been eating fish and chicken and sometimes if my body craved it, I’d eat a burger. So I haven’t been 100% plant based in years - but still a huge salad everyday. Nuts and some fruit. Anyhow- it was at the point where anything I put in my mouth made Me look 9 months pregnant. I’m 5’8, 120lbs and my dexa scan was 18% body fat. I workout every day and or walk miles on the beach. I’m not bloated - I have energy - I’m more focused - wow! And I’m loving the meat- so do my dogs 😂 I bought some toro, a roast, love bison- having fun exploring and it’s working for now:) I also ordered the ancient I forget the name - supplements with the grass fed organs- liver, brain, placenta and bone marrow - I’m not brave enough to eat those and prob never will but by capsule sure! Organ meat, particularly liver, is CRUCIAL on the carnivore diet. I almost gave up on it after 6 months because of insane inflammation and fatigue, but the first time I ate beef liver I felt high. It tasted terrible, but I couldn't atop eating it. I INSTANTLY felt amazing.

From my experience dairy does not work well if you're trying to do carnivore properly. I definitely noticed reduced inflammation when I cut it out. It was hard coming from keto but worth it.

Most doctors who advocate carnivore diet say that all animal sources can be included, not only meat. Unless someone has issues with dairy it's included too, especially cheese. Eggs and seafood are highly recommended on carnivore as well.

Hi Laura! I had gastric bypass in 2012. I went from 325 to 215 and then plateaued for a year. I went on Keto and dropped to 170. Then, Covid hit and I began working from home and took a pay cut for a year. Thus, my eating lifestyle went back to some cheaper ways and I regained back to 215. I made a decision to transition to a carnivore lifestyle, but I can only eat about 3/4 to 1 cup worth of meat at a time. Do you have any recommendations?
@zuggman65303 жыл бұрын
Started carnivore this week, main goal to stop with keto sweet snacks. Kept my peppers and onions in my ground beef and using some sour cream ranch dip for chicken and pork rinds. So far not really hungry. Already sick of meat, lol.

Regarding snacking...anyone who has had a bariatric surgery (vsg) will not be able to eat enough at one meal or even two, to get enough protein to meet the level you mention. Your stomach cannot accommodate that much mass. Multiple small meals or combined with protein supplements (high protein shakes) allow adequate protein consumption. I've been doing carnivore for just over three weeks so far. I'm doing it with a protein shake for earlier in the day, coffee and tea until dinner and then often having a second protein shake before bed if I'm hungry or feel like my protein is too low. My shakes have 30 gm of protein. So that's 60 gm, along with whatever I'm having for dinner (steak, fish & scallops or fish & shrimp or maybe chicken). I'm not sure exactly how much I'm getting in per day, but I have lost 13 pounds as of today 12/6/20. I started carnivore 11/11/20. I know this isn't PURE carnivore because the shakes have chemical additives (unlike what the cavemen ate), but I'm doing what I have to do in order to get my protein with limited stomach capacity. Just mentioning all of this for any of the post surgical people out there who are trying to use carnivore as your adaptive way of eating. Only saying this seems to be working for me. P.S. I do still take the daily supplements as directed by my physicians. I'll have to see if that remains necessary sometime in the future. For now, I think it's best to continue. Good luck to all. 🙏

UPDATE: Today is 1/20/21 and I've now lost 21 pounds. That was beginning 11/11/2020. Lost about 15 the first month and five the second month. So 21 pounds in just over two months. This is working.

Really loved this video just seeing it for first time 5/4/22 day number 59 on the Keto Carnivore way of eating for me ( and of course in past 65 days not very many videos I have watched that did not enjoyed, learning and growing from each in my better understanding of Keto carnivore, nutrition and the workings of why I may want to do this or that. -as a way that seems to be core stuff in getting the most bang for the buck to coin a phrase. But the choice is always yours, and not many will say you are wrong as you find your own way with such reveals rather I have found 98% maybe 99% are behind the novice like myself as well the long term who has done this for years. And all pretty much will say maybe this is for you maybe not, you will have to see for yourself what you think very often. But the high carbs and low fat, and cutting calories for the sake of cutting them for whatever the reasoning should be really weighed carefully. I have so enjoyed and learned much in these mere 2 months it is just super good stuff (information) , and it came though these KZbinr channels like yours Laura and Karen and Rachel and so many others I learn from, as well Dr. Baker's Berry's Chaffee's, Mason's and others where their names escape me at the moment, but all seem to have a primary theme and that is a carnivores lifestyle and well-being is its core for the information being shared in their videos. Just incredible the amount of valuable applicable information one can read and see on all these videos from researchers, professors at prestigious and distinguished degreed institutions, scientists of many related fields of study and number crunchers as it honestly relates to Carnivore or ketovoure...life styles and how to maybe better improve the quality of your own life. That is just so out of left field just a miracle I stumbled into all this about 2 months ago. And before that "Keto to me was the latest buzz word for marketing healthier groceries. Be wary there on that end though, as when industry is marketing a new sweetener, or "flour" or faux potato chip or faux tortilla etc buyer beware. No all is golden! After getting my mind wet with a lot of the brand new keto- carnivore related information I began and was looking for all the best credible advise and understanding that I could relate to for me (still do, and with a passion) that I can or maybe will benefit my healthy well-being in general so it stays pretty much on a steady trajectory to where I came from 20 years ago, (us older folks can relate to that) the days before my diet turned on me in such a manner it started eating my body up for it own lunch to fuel the negative side of growing after 50, because no longer was my body able to be resiliently bouncing back from the SAD abuse I put it through. I was a huge carb person and loved my beans, Rice's, pastas the whole entire 9 yards times 2. And for me it was time to begin to pay the piper! At age 50. My story way to long but if new or not that was great stuff and a great video as are the recent which I so love watching as time permits. Thank you. Sincerely said and meant. I am no body just one of us or feel I am🙂 again, GREAT VIDEO!🏆👍

Thank you for the tips. The tips most helpful for me are...1- do not snack: even though i eat carnivore for two weeks now, i snack in between meals. 2- not fully going carnivore. yep i keep my bitter chocolate with coffee. and some dates occasionally. since im doing this, i should do it fully, i guess. From now on, i will do full carnivore, no snacking and no chocolate.

I’m on carnivore now 3th week, from keto to carnivore, I do non of those mistakes. But one I have, drinking a coffee with oat milk. That’s the only mistake I do. I don’t think on carbs or sweets, I’m even cooking for family without trying a food. Ppl can eat sweets around me, it doesn’t touch me. I've noticed that you are able to eat 1 to 2 lbs of meat at a sitting. I have not been able to do that... I'm still satiated after only 1 lb of meat and it keeps me satisfied for a long time. Is eating a 1 to 2 lb stack of meat a necessary thing or should I judged based on my "intuition" ? Thanks for you videos... you are a true inspiration...
@LauraSpath4 жыл бұрын
Definitely not necessary to eat that much in one sitting. Lots of people like doing 2 meals instead of 1. I just used to eat whole pizzas and a pint of ice cream so eating a lot at once is what I like better.

from your picture, I infer, and maybe wrongly, that you're not a WNBA player. for your height and your needs you probably don't need more. as for many things the more doesn't mean the merrier. your personal feeling of satiety is also one of the main indicators that you are on the right track and in good health.

Great video Laura! I do mainly a meat-heavy Keto but I'm noticing that I still have inflammation and a lot of pain due to Fibromyalgia. I think I'll try Carnivore for 30 days and see how that goes. My question is, once the 30 days is up, do I stay carnivore or do I transition back to Keto? Also, thank you for mentioning organ meats. It wasn't for lack of trying because my family tried to feed them to me for years....nope, just can't do it! Give me that pork belly instead! :P

Another tip, eat enough fat! It's the only way I am losing weight on the Carnivore Diet is that my macros are 70% fat, 30% Protein. I was on a 6 week plateau and I wasn't losing any weight. Actually I gained a few pounds on a high protein, moderate fat combo. Again, this worked for me as I have lost 8 pounds doing high 70% fat, 30% protein.

Coming up on two months doing keto-carnivore! I do find watching what other people do, in terms of eating, helpful, especially at the start, but my husband and I are adapting the 'diet' and making it work for us. Oddly enough, I've found my desire to snack between meals diminishing. Granted, I do occasionally snack--a bit of cheese or a few servings of pork rinds or cracklings--but nothing like before when I was eating SAD, WFPB, or HCLF. I find that I want to snack in the evenings if, for some reason, we had a relatively low-fat animal based meal. I've also been experimenting with IF and OMAD, which is going pretty well. I *may* try extended fasts later on, once we've hit the 90-day carnivore mark to see how it goes. It's really nice not being obsessed with food all. the. time. I'm seeing some downward trends on the scale, but what I'm really noticing is how better my clothes are fitting and my energy levels and concentration are improving. So far, I'm really enjoying this way of eating--got some spare ribs in the oven (bought on sale!) for tonight. We've not tried of this way of eating. I'm a wee bit concerned about the upcoming holiday season and family functions...but I'm hopeful that I'll be so ingrained in carnivore that those other food won't tempt me. Thank you for sharing, not only this tips, but all the other content. It really helps a newbie like me :)

I tried to make fat bombs when I started keto, but they were pretty crappy. Stopped trying about two years ago. I usually eat OMAD, but sometimes have to have a plate of eggs earlier in the day.
