Your phrasing is beautiful! I've really enjoyed your tutorials, with respect to leads that focus on playing around the triads and major & minor arpeggios. So many instructors teach the box methods. Your approach sounds so much more melodic and teaches ear training from the "get-go." I've been playing for several years, and you've unlocked so much. Thank you! I'd love to take private lessons. How do I go about that?

In 1995, at the age of 38, I signed up to go to a Summer Week Guitar workshop at Berkelee Music School. Spent a week living on campus and attending various classes and seminars - including one from a very young Tomo Fujita - so happy to see he's still doing what he loves most: playing the guitar and sharing his knowledge. Tomo - you are a sweet and generous soul and a helluva teacher - your enthusiasm and love for the instrument are inspiring these many years later. Thank you for sharing them with us...

Love how he explains the topic to the point of being able to understand it and then says “Figure it out” because that’s what it’s all about. Getting to know your guitar and seeing how and where you can go and having that sense of discovery is what will make us as people learn. Always a pleasure to learn from you Tomo 🙏

I play a lot in A minor and Am natural is the C scale (A,B,C,D,E,F,G) and for Dorian you hit F# instead of F. So that's basically it, that's Dorian. The Am to Dm progression becomes Am to D. Not so much of a minor blues sound but jazzier rock sound, I guess.

I am new to guitar. Typically how many years of practice does it need to be able to understand this lesson and then play this.
@TomoFujitaMusic3 жыл бұрын
A few years? Maybe faster you can achieve it! If you study proper way

You're a very kind and generous and an awesome instructor. I must say though that Joe Pass, Danny Gatton and perhaps Andre Segovia or three that have mastered the instrument!

Nonsense? 🤪 that was a great lesson. I have never seen playing one note with each finger 🤔 very cool idea. Your horizontal approach is crumbling my wall of “stuck” in one position. Thank you
