The Far Out Space Nuts was one of my favorite S&M Krofft shows. I was just telling my kid about how the show was great at teaching kids to use their imagination. The models of every space city or base was clearly made from stuff they had laying around in the art shop and the kitchen. It was all the same stuff kids had at home: Tupperware, yogurt containers, soda cans, cups, plastic plates, etc. They would build these incredible, if not simplistic, models of cities from all that junk and paint it silver. After the show we'd grab stuff from the kitchen and make our own bases in the sandbox and have an afternoon of fun having our own space adventures. Our parents liked it because they didn't have to spend any money on "officially licenced" toys.

YES! More Carradine bee talk! I'm a little surprised you didn't mention the series "Quark." It was a perfectly mediocre series from 1977 when sci-fi got really popular for some reason that year. Perhaps there's an explanation in episode 2, May the Source Be With You. It was a show about an inept captain of a space garbage scow and his lackluster crew that borrowed elements from both Star Wars and Star Trek. Plus, I believe all 8 episodes are available for free online. It's certainly worth a look for the next video like this.

even more crazy considering the two creators fought almost constantly over the show (one wanted to go more action and hard sci-fi, the other wanted to go more comedy). it got so bad that when they were given a 4 book deal* they were barely able to get out the first two books, and were so sick of each other that they decided to split the last two between them, with each of them writing their own book 3. *the books, at least the first two, basically retell the story of the show as a more linear narrative. the first two stand out tho, because of the audiobooks. they are read by Chris barrie who played Rimmer, who you quickly discover is able to do pitch perfect impersonations of the other cast members. meaning the first two audiobooks feel like you are listening to a full cast recording.

But now that you've done this, maybe you could help me out in a later video; there was a show that became legendary in my family, but I don't think it lasted past the pilot. It was called 'Alien in the Family', or something like that, and the most remarkable thing about it was that it featured puppets and makeup-effects done by the Jim Henson Creature Shop. (think ABC's 'Dinosaurs', but with aliens.) And the one other thing I most remember it for was that it sort-of featured a character that fit the "Stewie Griffin" formula before that character was a thing. If you could find ANYTHING on this show, I would greatly appreciate it. Keep it up! =)

I don't know if she could have sued for her likeness being used since permission would have been a given when she was part of the show.
