@@DiamanteDea True. Each word is a stand-alone description of an individual, so it's possible for only one of the three to be an accurate description, but there is a lot of overlap between introvert, quiet, and shy, so it's more likely for an individual who is one of the terms to also be one or both other terms.

Oh yeah, the worst one is when you are sitting with a group of people (like a family reunion for example) then someone who thinks they are funny as hell turns to you, and ironically says something like: "Hey man, don't talk so much, let others speak too". Really? I'm feeling awkward enough without you making fun of me in front of everyone. Just stfu and let me sit here quietly, until this awkward situation is over.

I can relate to all of those. It's so hard, especially presentations. I'm really anxious when it comes to presentations, I mean my heart is already racing when I raise my hand to say something in class. And now is the time where my teachers really put pressure on us because they do a lot of presentations, my English teacher does presentations almost every lesson but she knows about me being very anxious about presentations. But she doesn't react positiv : Sometimes a lot of the presentations are optional and you can choose if you want to present your work. I always do my work really hard and try my best so I can balance my mark because the verbal part of it is pretty low. When we have these optional presentations I don't do them but as I said I try my best with the writing part. But there's the part that really drags me down. Every time someone does the optional presentation she prayses them for how brave they are and how easy it is and she constantly looks at me when she says that. I really want to try the optional presentations but I can't if she always destroys my motivation. I really want to talk to her about it but I can't force myself to do it. I want to thank you for clearing that up for other people so they can understand us who struggle with this a little better :)

I’m the exact same but maybe a little worse, we don’t do presentations as much but when we do we know when to expect it because they give us a deadline, so I just call off sick for the next 2 days and have my friend send me all my work so I don’t fall behind in any other classes....I just can’t do presentations

I once got a 60% in a language class major assignment because I had to do a presentation and forgot how to speak English, it was terrible. I tried to tell her that I was too nervous, but she simply said "no, you only speak English in this class" (this was in Quebec). I cried because it ruined my mark and I dropped like 5% with that assignment. It's hard when your parents expect you to be getting nothing lower than 90% and your social anxiety/extreme introversion gets in the way.

I actually get pissed off because I'm being told to talk in front of people and walk away without answer. Ask the teacher if you can do other work instead. If he/she says "No, you have to get a taste of the real world" or some shit, tell her to fuck off with that bullshit. Then go to the principle and explain that you won't do presentations cause you're fucked up in the head, and that you have a condition that they have to abide by. I basically intimidated my teachers. They'd just be like, "Well Dan's not gonna do this, so give em a book or something". Don't over do my behavior though. You don't want to just seem like some kid trying to gain some attention for being "Rebellious". I'm living life in my comfort zone. A true loner at that. I live with my cousin and I'm trying to get him to put together his own PC, like I did.

Sunshine I actually hate small children because they are so extroverted. I lunch monitor at my school (I pretty much have to open containers for kindergarteners) and every kid there is an extrovert especially one kid who talk so fast he stutters and I can barely understand him. Another kid though is very sweet, she is very quiet and observant and is a clear introvert when she needs something opened she will come up to me look at me and give me the container without saying a word. I think she goes up to me more than my friend because my friend encourages her to speak up which scares her a bit while I stay quiet. I should be encouraging her but I feel like that is someone else’s job because I’m quiet as well. Sorry this turned into a rant almost, I get carries away. TL;DR I don’t like kids because they talk too much, one kid I like because she is quiet.

My mom and sister thinks I’m a cold person cause I don’t show much emotion. But it’s really because of a rough childhood and having to lose all my family and friends because of my parents divorcing and my mom forcing me to move to a country that isn’t even my main language. So anything that might seem sad or anything that happens to me that makes me sad, I learned to just keep my emotions in. Keep my tears back, and just let it out later when no one is around. It isn’t healthy, but I guess that’s what happens when your parents don’t think how their actions and their choices can affect their own child. Because my mom clearly didn’t think how moving to japan would affect me. I’m moving out luckily, which was hard for me to do. Took me 4 years to finally speak and tell my mom that I can live like this. I’m moving in a few weeks.

In the Amazon book "THE 5 AGELESS RULES OF MENTAL HEALTH: conquer Stress, Anxiety, and Depression -SAD. Uncover the Natural Ways of Healing Yourself. Here's my quick grab from just one chapter As we get older, we tend to align by the societal matrix, making us a bit protective. We start to build walls to cover ourselves from unknown or perceived fear We begin to lose our essence. The inbuilt childlike zeal to try, to explore and to become, gradually starts to atrophy Within those walls, another evolution gradually steps in. In that state, we first justify these mechanisms by calling ourselves INTROVERTS just to feel good about our state of being While it is in the nature of a child to exude a superman kind of confidence, adult life and society's matrix shrink those order of things, making us believe that that we can live only in our own skin. The instant gratification creeps in, we see ourselves not able to be sane without social media likes, games, and some other types of self-addictions The book in chapt 2 is a synthesis to the childhood innocence & adult life. It creates a balance through some simple practical steps of becoming Checkout that book on Amazon store....believe me, it helps & heals.

You have to *call* (introverts and phone calls don't go together, even if that phone call is what will develop your future career) someone that is a complete stranger to you to get called in a job interview (idk how the people that do job interviews are called), since no job envolves speaking to no one. This is why I want to do either a home job or become an artist but I'm probably gonna be broke.

Its called interviewer fyi. I dont think its that bad. Im an introvert myself. U just answer truthfully and period. every single introvert video you guys do is so relatable... when I am invited to a party, or have someone CONSTANTLY messaging me on facebook to make pointless small talk (like what the hell I'm doing stuff.. even if its just being a loner watching a movie, I don't want to constantly stop what I'm doing to reply to pointless small talk on my phone - take a hint!!!!) I am tempted to just send them these videos and not say anything and see if maybe then they'll understand. When I say I'm just an introvert and I need my alone time to recharge, people just thinking I'm using it as an excuse! People don't want to put stock in something that they can't relate too :(

being introverted actually helps with these things you know who to assign to what role and can defuse conflict its important for us introverts to find out exactly what kind of introvert we are so we know our strengths and to do things that require our strength so we fell like we belong. I didn't know why I was so good at rapping until I found out I was an INFP. Take the MBTI please

The main problem only an introvert can relate to is people not getting it and trying to change you. For years I was called antisocial by my family and compared to others. They would reference my stepbrother who can act extroverted yet isn’t very talkative so comes off somewhat antisocial and my mother who shared similar traits saying I get my antisocial personality from my mother’s side of my family referencing how my dad was outgoing or in other words an extrovert. It made me feel like there was something wrong with me and yet I couldn’t see any way to change into the person they wanted me to be. Even now they have me labeled antisocial and just abnormal for wanting to spend time alone rather than constantly in the company of others. I enjoy spending time with close friends but hate small talk as well as socializing with people I do not know well which is a concept they cannot comprehend.
@wet0wl4 жыл бұрын
One of my annoyances is when people think you hate others, incorrect. Introverts just get drained by social stuff which tends to make them more shy and only really act like extroverts near their closed friends
@kaeyynn5 жыл бұрын
These are the most common things people tell me “You are so quiet” “Why do you never talk” “You should talk more” “You are so shy!” When I was young EVERY SINGLE parent teacher conference stated a daring similarity “Your daughter needs to talk more, she’s always quiet and never participates”
