First off, you don't go into relationships to "Fix or Change" people...or the problems. Only communications and to some extent compromising will resolve matters, or at the very least...decide if you need to move on. If you wanted the relationship to work, you should've accepted them the way they are, and may try to subtlety and gradually work out the problems between you!

i was the dumper and its been a little over a month. I loved her with all my heart and gave her everything she ever could ask for. I lost myself in her, but she never saw it and continuously was clouded with doubt over insecurities that i couldnt do anything about. I felt like no matter what I did, she would never believe me fully when I said Iloved her and that led to me torturing myself until I ended it. I still feel a lot of love for her but I know its too late to do anything for us because truthfully if she was right I wouldnt have ended it. I honestly think breaking up is something that should only be done if something drastic happens such as one person cheats or if there is constant abuse/emotional drainage. But if things feel "boring" or the spark is gone, then spice things up! Go places together. Restructure communication. Work on parts that need to be worked on. No relationship is 100% perfect! Do you get a new job every time your boss gives you crap? No, you see what you can do to improve your performance and meet your boss's standards. Otherwise, you may be leaving a perfectly good relationship for no reason other than trivial nonsense.

I am open to look back at our relationship sometime and If we run into each other for some small talk. But for now I keep silent. She dit not reply. 6 weeks later. I chanceged the title of our shared playlist to: I will delete this playlist 7 November. You can make a copie or ask me. She send me a message told me she listens everyday to the playlist. Asked me some personal questions. I replied once a day. I told her in the last massages how to make a copie of the playlist. She did not open them or at least did not reply. I’m not saying if that’s true, because I don’t know. Currently going through a breakup as the dumpee and doing a lot of self love work, practicing hobbies, learning new things, being social with friends and family (although mostly over the phone due to COVID-19). Getting my stuff packed up to move in with a friend. He’s usually at his parent’s house when not at work and seems to be doing fine, besides the fact that he used to drink maybe twice a year and has been drinking every weekend since he broke up with me. One important thing i learned after all of this - discipline is actually makes you love and value yourself so much, that its a must! Be strong, become stronger, for you, not for someone else. Heartbrake is a good push to start transformation, or increase it intensity (im always work on myself, but now its like 300% of what was before). She always had negative things to say about me while complementing other ppl. I did all I could for almost two years when I finally realized I'm never gonna be enough for her. PSA: This is only the case if the dumper had real feelings for you. I once ended up in a relationship I didn't want to be in (I was a teen and didn't know how to say no). Eventually I worked the situation so he broke up with me, don't judge me, I didn't want to hurt his feelings. I honestly felt like the dumper because I pushed him into breaking up with me. I never felt nostalgic or sad about the breakup and I definitely never thought about reaching out and saying I wanted to get back together. I was ecstatic to be free. Why? Because I never felt anything significant for him. Don't get me wrong, he was really nice and I liked him as a friend, but he was a terrible boyfriend and I just never felt attracted to him. It also didn't help that he would get triggered by the most minimal things and instantly become verbally abusive. The point is, unless the person that broke up with you really cared about you and hopefully loved you, they might just be relieved and that's it.

Wholeheartedly disagree with this video. I was the dumper in a recent relationship and honestly, I never really left the relief stage. I felt free because the relationship wasn't right for me, and then single life became normal. I would never consider being with the person I was with before because the relationship just wasn't working for me because of incompatibility. This is why I'd never dump anyone (unless of course they were narcissistic, they cheated, they were abusive, and other bad things). I hate losing people in my life, especially if it was because of my decision or my fault. In my opinion, if you have someone who cares, loves you, gives you all they have, there is no reason to dump them unless you really have to. I have been the dumpee in all the relationships I’ve been in (been in 3 relationships) and gave all my heart to them and put in a lot of effort. Pretty sure my first 2 exes went through this. The 3rd one just broke up with me a month ago and started no contact a week ago. First ex I know definitely went through these cause he told me how happy he was without me after about the first couple of weeks and then as time went on he started posting some kinda sad posts on social media and then finally after about 2 months of not speaking, he texted me out of the blue one day saying how sorry he was and stuff. I had moved on by the time he decided to reach out to me so I didn’t take him back (also he was very narcissistic and cheated multiple times and was an absolutely awful boyfriend) 2nd ex, it only took about 3 weeks for him to come back, I was half way to moving on when he all the sudden popped back into my life again, took him back only for him to dump me again 2 weeks later and for him to crawl back 3 weeks later again. Didn’t take him back that time. 3rd ex I’m actually hoping will come back, I really love him a lot and miss him so much.

I've been working through a breakup for the past two weeks now. I was the dumper but it was because we definitely are on separate paths. She is pretty much ready to settle down but I still want to finish medical school before I am ready. It started causing problems because of the differences and the unfortunate lack of communication, and it was clearly hurting both of us. So I broke it off. Update: it's been four weeks now since the breakup. It gets better. My head has cleared and the loneliness is less suffocating. I'm starting to recognize why I broke it off in the first place, and I'm learning to be happier with myself and my family and friends. I've become more outgoing and even read some good books and learned some new songs on the piano. Y'all saw how torn up I was a couple weeks ago, and I'm just back to say, stick it out. Life gets better and you can take this all as a learning experience. We both made mistakes and now I know what I need to work on.
