I've been doing a dead hang every morning for years now. It's so good for as you say decompressing the spine. It also improves your grip strength. You don't have to do a full dead hang to get the decompression, leaving your toes on the ground works too.

I love reclined butterfly is one of my faves and supported bridge. There's a few I do every night but I do like the look of the pancake stretch! I don't know if you practice or teach yoga but you should because you're not egotistical and that's so important in a yoga practice to avoid injury above all. If only more people knew that, more people would practice. I've got mobility issues and deal with pain 24/7 but I love yoga and only one yoga teacher has made me feel less than. I'm doing my yoga teacher training and I've vowed that I'll never make a student feel the way she did. Love your videos

Since I like strecthing and want to remain flexible and increase the flexibility that I have I clicked on the video. I was impressed so I immediately subscribed. Looking forward to future videos from you. And to watch a lot of your previous videos as well.🙂

I have a bad hip that likes to lock up if I stay in one position really long. So when I wake up I do the hero stretch. It has done an amazing job keeping my leg mobile. So I am pretty excited to try your suggestions. Thank you for your videos and time.

Hi Tom, I just want to say thank you so much for this video. I know previously you've discussed doing more active stretches first thing in the morning but I actually really love doing yin yoga when I wake up in the morning with a coffee on rest days, and adding in a few of these passive stretches has been absolutely lovely!! Hip stretches are great too. If you have any more suggestions I'd love to see another video just like this (prefer these than follow-alongs as I don't like to switch on any devices in the early am). Thank you! Dawn x

Last 2 of these are the stretches I do every time I do yin yoga. Actually these kind of relaxed stretch poses is what yin yoga postures is mostly composed of. Love your videos regardless and that starting music of your channel always puts me in a great mood 😌. Maybe you can also add a 20 minute meditation practice in your routine as well 😁.

So glad I found your channel Tom. I'm 51 and I don't think I stretched very well all my life the only time I was flexible was when I was an amateur boxer at 14, but since I've started some of your excercises I'm noticing some improvements already particularly around hips and hamstrings, I aim to get my hands flat on the floor with knees straight lol! I love the look of the hanging stretch just need to try and see if my chandler's can take my weight lol!

Coming from yoga I find stretching quite important for calisthenics & in general for a healthier posture. I'd put a bit more accent on lower back stretching perhaps, i.e. beside the pancake I'd also include the plow pose (Halasana) for that area. Otherwise great compilation Bodyweight Warrior, keep it up, both the content & the moustache 🙌🏻 👨🏻

It isn't a stretch, but doing the fire hydrant leg raise out to the side has been amazing. My groin tight and stretching it has not helped much, but reciprocal inhibition through stimulating the external hip muscles has been nice. I also like the half-splits switching between plantarflexion and dorsiflexion. But I'm def going to try these. Love the nod to hanging, too.

All good moves, Thanks. I have large kyphotic angle so any help on that is welcome. Considering this my hand stand not bad, but find it hard to hit that sweet balance spot regularly. When I do, it's so easy to hold, just like being glued in one spot, but this only happens once in 50 attempt. Keep the good advice coming. (Peter, Australia, 64 years)

Cheers from Portugal ;)

is it necessary to warm up before streching?
@sandroboraita5174 жыл бұрын
No, it isn’t. Anyways, you have to be careful and do gentle moves and do not force your body, you don’t have to feel any pain, that’s important. But the most important thing is being consistent, you can achieve everything that you want. *It will be “harder” (ROM reduced because of no movement when sleeping) if you do it just after waking up but I love doing it in the morning because when you complete it you really feel like new.
