hahahaha came here to comment the same thing and I'm still on the first product. River water from 5 gallon bucket looks too clean? probably because it sat there and all the dirt had a chance to settle...trying to seal the bag? I'm over here screaming "Roll it up and click it in!!!!" But thats why we watch right? hahaha

Yes, it's nowhere near as hard as he made it out to be 🤣 I use the bladder for extended camping trips and it works great! Obviously not as good or easy as turning a faucet on but hey it's meant for survival. The life straws are great also with a lot less moving parts. And anyone who wants to try the bladder trust the direction are clearly printed step by step on the bag!🤣 So clearly that for years now that is the job of the kids when we camp while I get everything set up they get started on the water prep. They almost died laughing when I showed them this.

Haven’t finished the video so I don’t know if you figured it out.. you wait for the dirt to collect without using the blue clip, all the dirt collects in the bottom part.. THEN you twist and put on the blue clip above the dirt just to purge it. So you only use the blue clip for the purge. I was just watching the battle box video on how to use this yesterday lol

@Kozy I can agree with you to a certain degree, but it's obvious these day's that there are far better channel's that review outdoor/survival item's. I always watch several different reviews on a product I'm buying unless I've already had it before and I'm just replacing. Tyler is obviously interesting and entertaining I'm by no means saying he isn't. But if you're gonna review a product then do the research and bring a proper knowledgeable review. But I agree many will just buy and toss into a survival bag and yes many will not look up a proper review, but if anyone 1 person was to just go off this video that means that company may lose a sale on a decent product for an emergency situation because of his lack of knowledge on how it work's. Like I said I like Tyler it's why I'm subscribed but to do a review on a product it should be tested and learned before showing other's how it works and calling it a review.

That purple stick from the first product is an amazing product in itself... it's called a gripstix. You are supposed to fold over the bag and slide the yellow rod inside the crease, leaving the purple part to wrap around the outside. I live in Florida... drastically high humidity all year round, and these Stix have saved SO MANY bags of chips and snacks from getting soft, soggy and stale. I swear by these things, and I'm just glad Tyler eventually figured it out.... mostly

The point of the bag and tablets is that they take up almost no space and weight compared to other possible solutions. So you're trading a little bit of convenience for that advantage which is important when camping and backpacking.

The inflatable mat is commonly called a ground pad, and is used for exactly what Tyler said, to keep the sleeper off of cold and/or wet ground. It's better to have a few layers, depending on how cold it is, so some leaves and small branches, maybe small logs laid in rows, then the ground pad. Add blanket and/or a sleeping bag and it's far more comfortable than directly on the ground. Nicer ones are just a roll of rubber, kind of like a yoga mat. I think it's a good idea for weight and space savings over a rubber one, but impractical for side sleepers.

I have a higher quality (but still affordable) version of that camping mat. It's just as narrow, but better designed, and you even have the choice of pumping it up with your foot or manually blowing air into it. I used it on a 6 month long road / camping trip & it is still completely usable. It feels a lot like sleeping on an air mattress. Not sure why the one in the video is designed so poorly, but my point is that you can get similar but better.

Could you use the second clip after you let the particles settle to the bottom, by using thatpowder ? I think this would really help the powder to filter all the water
@darkprime6815
@darkprime6815 2 жыл бұрын
That's how you are suppose to do it, you have to fold the thinner part and slide that purple stick into it since it's has three pieces with the middle one going between the folds so the sediment can settle at the bottom and the folded part won't allow water to come out. The thick blue clip is to put on the tube after the sediment has been separated from the water and you want to get it out of the package.
@g-whiz286
@g-whiz286 2 жыл бұрын
Yes. The clip goes on AFTER all the settling is done and you just want to purge out the coagulated material. Then you fold and slide the seal tube back on and remove the clip.

Can't speak for that brand, but most of these purification tablets or powders I've used do a surprisingly good job. They're not just filtering out the crud, but they have things in like the chlorine that sterilises anything left. I'd assume with them being a bigger brand that if they didn't work they'd have been sued and stopped from selling them by now.

Tyler, the chemical in the packet is more than likely an iodine packet, and it's a common use item for water treatment and cleaning when alone. It won't clean the water 100% absolutely clean as if it were a filter in your house but it will save your life over drinking other. It also cleans a good amount of water. If you were also wondering, a tiny tablet cleans about a liter for consumption. Not including the purged amount

As a kayaker I want to know when Battle Box released a kayakers dream box. I use everything he just showed on multi day trips. I also have a lightweight extreme weather tent, a 0F rated compressible field bag, two small 8x8 tarps, 3 days of food, and the utensils and necessaries that I pack. It all fits inside my Kayak (Liquid Logic XP 10) in dry bags. Basically I can spend 3 nights on a river away from any sort of civilization and be perfectly fine. If push comes to shove I can ration food out a little more and go for 6-8 days if needed. All of these things Tyler just showed are super useful, lightweight, compact and easy to setup and use. With the right tent and gear you can setup an emergency camp in under 5 minutes.

I'll be honest I think the water thing is a gimmick. I feel like most of the stuff that collected at the bottom of the bag is the powder you poured in. Plus, the whole "90% other ingredients" thing seems suspicious especially since it is a food item that you consume. I could be wrong though. that water purifier bag looks like it'd be better used if the bag was just put over tree leaves [or any leaves] because leaves transpire, water comes out of the leaves and so if left long enough you will gather water in the bag [which is sped up because the bag would help the leaves sweat more] . . no need for this design of water purifier when there's pure water coming from the leaves of the plant while the purifier would purify a larger amount in a shorter period of time, I believe the water you'd get from transpiration would be purer plus there's no added chlorine

You got to put the water in fold the bottom flap once then put the purple clip in. Then you put the packet in shake it and wait, then you put the clip above the dirt that is at the bottom and take the purple clip off to let the dirt water out

You should do water testing strips!!! With both of those. And maybe a life straw!! Super interesting series!!! I’d be so curious so see if it indeed does get rid of bacteria etc.

Your air mattress is designed for ultralight backpacking where everything you carry is less than one pound of weight. Still air is your best insulator therefore the mattress is designed to keep you from wicking moisture from the ground and an insulating you from the cooler ground temperatures. They are by no means made for comfort.

Haven't they made tablets for years you can add to water to purify. If so it sure seems like it'd be a lot easier. That or just a life straw.

With the filter you use the purple clip first, then with the blue clip you let all the clean water out and since it’s such a small opening and doesn’t let any dirt out.

Tyler - I've NEVER had a problem getting a tent, sleeping bag, or air mattress back in the original bag. You simply have to think about them, and realize that most of them, you have to kneel on while you roll them.

We have that table, it's great because it does go up and down easy, and it fits under the seat of my truck. Those pads are better camping on a cot, and you put it inside your sleeping bag.

"Bivvy" is an abbreviation of "Bivuoac" ...... A mini emergency shelter. Bivvy bags are basically huge, extra thick trash bags, a "Full Bivvy" is a 3 sided tent with an open front. Results vary, the marketing boys will claim all kinds of magic properties for a piece of canvas and 2 sticks 😲

If you want easy walter survival filtration there's videos online for soda bottle filtration.It consists of a soda bottle grass,sand charcoal and rocks it'll take time but will filter it to clear water. Then all that's needed is boiling the clear water and you'll have safe drinking water.

We should do a revisit on the first one, the lack of proper water tight seal defeats the purpose of cleaning the water. The particles are still floating because air traveled up the bag when it was opened carried them to the surface. With a proper seal it should work much better.
