Comfort is the utmost for guests, including a nice warm Queen sized bed. Loud noise? What loud noise? I can sleep through anything with the exception of three things, someone breaking in, a child's footsteps and a child crying, I hear any of that and I'm up like someone just dropped an ice cube in my draws. Preparedness is key to a comfortable relaxing visit. The only thing you have wrong about my house is, the house will remain silent until everyone is awake, but that bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy with coffee going will normally bring anyone to the kitchen even if they're sleepwalking.

I was kind of expecting breakfast to be the last one. For my family and friends, breakfast the next morning is just always a thing. Even if you don't normally bother with having breakfast yourself, if a guest slept over, you break out everything that can be considered breakfast food. At the very least you give them a list of everything you can make for them. If you've been up for a bit, you've probably already started cooking stuff. If the smell of the food doesn't wake them up, then you'll get them up shortly before the food is ready so they have a chance to wake up a bit before it's time to eat. Where I come from, hospitality is taken very seriously. It's not even something we feel the need to talk about or reaffirm. It's just universally understood. If you invite someone into your home, their well being is your responsibility for as long as they're there.

Josh.... Where I'm from here in Texas, it's called "Southern Hospitality". My grandmother raised me and she beat it into me that when you have company.... "The guest gets your best". I had a hard time when I was little understanding why I had to make sure the "nice" dishes were taken out and dusted off, why those sheets that stayed in the cedar chest had to be aired and laid out, and why I had to give up my bed when family or friends came over, lol. "Boy....if you treat your friends and family like royalty in your home, like them for their personality and love them because of their flaws, and work to put effort into showing them that love.... Then you'll never friends, you'll have nothing but family.".

Even though I live in a small one bedroom apartment, I can guarantee you I bought the ikea couch that turns into a nice comfy full sized bed so that guests could have someplace to sleep. Plenty of spare blankets and linens too! Not to mention whatever bath amenities you need. You need a fluffy towel? Bathrobe? Shower cap? Face mask? I got em. You wanna take a bubble bath? Here let me light some candles and toss in a bath bomb for ya. 😂 I didn’t even realize these were stereotypes, but it’s so true! Lol

when i was younger we had a guest room and it was called my Bedroom so anytime a family member stayed i had to sleep on the couch for as long as they stayed and they had a Playstation DVD player comics and a nice big bed so basically they got made as comfortable as possible.

Yep. Not a lot of this currently applies to me because I'm lower income, but once I hit middle class, it will all be true. It's passed down from parent to child.

Sleeping in the living room overnight is frowned upon, and rude to the rest of the family. That's the main reason for the designated sleeping room. It's not just niceness.

I think it is nice. No one wants to sleep in the living room. I have an extra room for guests but if the apartment is full I'll give up my bed to sleep in the living room. My place so my problem...but it's not much of a problem because I get up very early. My home is open
