Dude, a calm white parent is the scariest thing ever. My mom and dad would talk when I was in trouble, but if I was in huge trouble, they were silent and calm. I would be shaking. Ain't nothing worse than a calm silent white parent. That meant my butt was gonna be hurtin.

My mom knew I was a bit... intentionally obnoxious to teachers, and was never one to spare me a punishment I earned, but she got called in once for me writing some dark humor stuff on an English paper and she gave this ditzy teacher the most civil yet savage roasting I ever heard from her. Favorite line was "You think Stephen King wrote about rainbows and flowers in school?!"

You do understand white and redneck cultures. I see myself so often in your videos. It is refreshing to think, "Gosh, that sounds just like me" and laugh at myself. We can do that, and I do, but to have someone else paint that picture, see yourself in it and start laughing is awesome. I am going to watch ALL of your videos here. Time well spent, imho, as I laugh out loud and feel happier when the video ends. Keep making and posting videos, Josh. You have a truly unique talent, one that is sorely needed in today's stress filled world.

I love your content. We need to talk more openly about typical white American culture and typical black American culture. That's what it is, it's not about race or color, but the very similar, yet fundamentally different cultures that have simultaneously evolved in parallel over the last 500 years. Your observations are spot on, and a really fun and intelligent way to explore subjects that can be very difficult to even broach, let alone examine. You, sir, are doing a fine work, more than most so-called social experts, to close the culture gap between white and black America.
@Sethxz6 жыл бұрын
Ted Logan According to some individuals whites don't have a culture of their own. Stupidity at its finest. I miss the 90's tbh
@tedlogan48676 жыл бұрын
@Seth... white Culture, I agree isn't a thing, because "white" people are indigenous to literally every continent, so to attempt to monolith "white" as one ethnic group or culture is ignorant, and I'm not saying that I think you're ignorant, I'm just pointing out that white people come from almost every imaginable culture. However, white AMERICAN culture is unique, and quite honestly, the most liberated and fair the world has ever known, even if it took a while to get to that point. Also, black AMERICAN culture is unique to itself; I think it goes without saying that American blacks are very very culturally different from blacks in Ghana or Dominican Republic for example. The point I was making is the common history and culture that is the foundation for all AMERICANS, and the differences among the two main American cultures, and that we should be able to celebrate and enjoy the positives, and not shy away from the negatives, in short, have adult conversations about our common destiny.

if you cant talk about each other and your self in the same way. then there is a problem. Everyone is dysfunctional. But i think the islander communities need some media attention. Probably a Samoan in Wisconsin some where not right, missing his coconuts

It isn't racist or mean spirited. It's just funny, we have to be able to laugh at ourselves. One of my best friends growing up was Latin and when I went to his place to chill with his family they were so much fun. When they get excited they do however have a tendency to all speak loudly and together which wouldn't be an issue but they understand each other and I get lost. We go in making fun of Diego and then when they come out were talking about the time his sister Camila streaked. I never have any clue what the context is.

I grew up with my step-mom. First time I got in trouble was in Junior High. Sadly, the first picture my step-mom's mother showed me was a picture of my mom chasing two guys up a tree with a baseball bat. One ended up being the principal of the Junior High, the other was the principal of the High School. Nobody wanted to see my mom walking into the office to get one of her kids.

"We'll talk about this when we get home", scariest lines to come from my mothers mouth. It meant hell fire was going to be coming down on my ass. Grew up in a small town and if anyone saw me doing something they'd call my mom at work and she'd call home. Even hearing her calm tones on the answering machine sent chills down my spine and would have me in fervent prayers for the rapture to come before my mom got home. And if you still acted like a fool afterwards you knew your dad would hear about it and he'd whoop your ass as well.

😂😂😂 Josh, you reading my file? My dad is a lawyer and I got suspended for "being in a fight" in a school with a zero tolerance policy. My friend thought it would be funny to whack me in the head with an ice pack in a lunchbag. I didn't hit him back or anything, but they gave us both detention. My dad came in exactly like you said and I had to clean lunchroom chairs one Saturday instead. I deserved an apology instead of chores, but I guess it beat detention.

Omg the school principle story had me rolling and is so true. When I was in 9th grade my teacher accused my friend and I of cheating (we really didn't cheat and I'm somehow still bitter about this at 22 haha), but the principle of the school was a bitch and just whole-heatedly believed what the teacher said. Both of our parents brought every report card my friend and I ever received up to the school to "show them why we didn't need to cheat." I thought it was so funny and awesome of our parents to defend us against those bitches who were just exercising power on us. White moms see through that shit.

I know a white guy who got a ticket for not wearing his seat belt 'properly' when he had a broken shoulder...law doesn't say anything about HOW it should be worn, only that one should be worn. Officers have enormous power to interpret the laws when they enforce them with great variation. I've always heardf that if you get a traffic ticket in a small city, get it bounded over to the county court. Your hearing will be so much more fair. Cities are all about the $, where counties don't care so much and just want the situation resolved.

It's one of the benefits of having boring names honestly... Everyone assumes we're too boring, or too much of a prude to get crazy.
