Best thing about Dave: no dogma. He knows everyone's different. Anyone who hasn't watched the Train Your Ass Off with Dave Tate series needs to check it out. Tried the leg extension cluster set/sissy-squat-stand-squat superset. Freaking awesome, even without the lunges.

I would LOVE if you did a followup series on this with a couple example videos of some of these technique suggestions - what some mistakes look like and what the correction would look like. Even if there is a lot of individual variation between lifters, it would be really cool to see. Again, thanks for these videos, so many amazing, clear insights that are gamechangers.

Good luck buddy i did my 315 PR 2 days ago, lets see with these tips how much i will reach next week
@slatermauro20924 жыл бұрын
@@improbro1124 ur gonna max out a week after u just hit a PR? Personally i would deload for a week, and try for the new PR in a month or 2. That way you can manage fatigue, and build upon your deadlift to have an even larger PR.
@slatermauro20924 жыл бұрын
@@improbro1124 are you a power lifter? If not i would suggest not maxing out on an individual lift more than 2-3 times a year.
@nikolavideomaker4 жыл бұрын
@@slatermauro2092 I've been lifting as a powerlifter for 3 years. No need to ever max out, I have maxed out like 3-4 times at most till now on every lift. You only need to max out when you are advanced or before a competition.
@slatermauro20924 жыл бұрын
@@nikolavideomaker i agree, but i think maxing out is a good way to see how your strength has increased. Its not necessary, but very useful.

On his other recent video Dave talks about squat varients as a way to build the deadlifting muscles. So true. I've been training at home since Covid. Good barbell, enough weight plates for what I need, a rack and a bench. I've taken the time to really hammer my squat. I didn't deadlift at all for 6 weeks, put all that energy into squats, front squats, good mornings and hip thrusts. I tested my deadlift and did an easy triple with my pre gym closing weight. Very pleased with this outcome!

I am very weak in conventional compared to close stance sumo, any ideas as to why? I have good technique in both. I have been told I have a long torso, might that be why? I can sumo 400x7 with narrow stance but only like 400x2 conventional. I am very weak in a regular sumo, might be a flexibility issue.
