You guys were exactly what I was searching g for to answer the exact questions I had! I want to do this right and disnt know which products were really quality. I did keto last yr. ,lost 40pds.,gained back 13 over holidays and went back to compulsive eat g at night! Even on keto I just couldn't seem to break that night time out of control hunger and cravings I had so made a decision to give carnivore a shot. It is new to me but I know what has carbs in them and this way of eating I an concerned about getting enough nutrients. I get constipated without fiber. What can I do about that? Is taking milk thistle or Psillinium husk ok?

@@sheilamaciejewski5578 It usually takes time for the constipation to go away but some people find that yogurt/kefir helps during the transition:)

You don't need suet to make tallow. Suet is the fat from around the cow's organs and is generally a hard, crumbly fat. But any fat from anywhere on a cow's body is tallow (so suet is a type of tallow). In order to make tallow, ask at your butcher counter for the beef fat scraps. The butcher spends all day trimming fat off of other people's beef and throwing it away, so they will usually be glad to sell it to you for very, very cheap, or they might even give it to you for free. Then you cook the fat scraps in a pot at low heat for a few hours to "render" out the fat. (This will go faster if you cut it up into small bits or ask the butcher to grind it for you, but it will still work even if you don't.) The meaty bits will brown up and turn hard, and the fat will be a clear golden liquid. Strain out the solids and save the fat in a mason jar or whatever. It will turn white and hard in the fridge, and will last almost indefinitely, as long as you got all of the water out.
@TimGreigPhotography5 ай бұрын
Traditional tallow is made from suet. Industry tallow is mostly from beef fat. Just another way the food industry screws up food, although in this case it probably makes little difference.
@HAPPYPLANTGAL2 ай бұрын
Oh and those fried bits are so tasty, so is the tallow. IF you add a bit of water to the pot it will render faster and the tallow you can use for your skin.

I like using homemade ghee (cheaper and tastier to make using store bought Grassfed butter) if I need a fat to cook with (like searing steak on a Carbon steel pan). Yes, like you said, making ghee can be tricky to not burn the milk solids or not toast it enough to your personal liking, but practice makes perfect and I don't have to worry about possible fake oils. 😁

I am on Day 8 Carnivore now, lost 2kgs weight (which I thought was bad, because now I am at 69kg as a 187 male). However, I have learned that this is mostly water in the beginning and also because of the chronic inflammation that is being reduced thanks to the diet (I got psoriasis). Also the Keto FLU or whatever kicked in yesterday, so this makes my journey a bit rought at the moment. I am almost doing a Lion Diet, but also incorporating eggs, other meats than ruminants and I am thinking about allowing grass-fed butter and other full fat dairy in my diet and see how acne and psoriasis react. It is just very tiring to only eat meat, bonebroth, salt and water (just as you said in the video). But I also do not want to diminish my healing process by eating maybe foods that are troublemakers for me, so I thought "lion diet it is, afterwards I can reintroduce the rest step by step" but it is SO HARD ffs.. Anyways, thank you guys! I instantly subscribed because you are less "religious" than other youtubers.

I am still researching where to acquire large / bulk items as, even though I live by myself currently, I like to eat, and prefer to go shopping fewer times and just buy in bulk. There is a Costco somewhat near to me, so I may have to get a membership again if I feel it is worth frequent trips.

Being pretty new (30 days) to the carnivore diet, I love pork sausage (Jimmy Dean), but it seems to have sugar in it. You had mentioned that pork sausage was a good way to add fat. My question is: is it better to stay away from it due to its sugar content, or is the sugar content minimal enough that it shouldn’t hurt weight loss and health results? Thank you for your videos!

i find sausages too much a headache to bother with, the storebought recipes are all too complicated with a bunch of stuff in them but if you had a machine that's a whole different story, put some tallow/ghee/cheese/marrow in there with some nice clean meat and its a dream

I've always wondered about the avocado oil! I was wondering if it was considered a seed oil. And I know there are ones that say not to use it just like all the other stuff, but not really a reason. I've loved using it because of the high smoke point and use it on steaks and on the griddle. We haven't started our carnivore diet but we are starting next week. So I would love to know if I could use the avocado oil, especially for the benefits avocados have on cholesterol?

Most animals (except chickens) raised for food in Australia are grass fed. Thank goodness we are smart enough not to follow North America on the way it's done there. But, we don't have the cold climate where animals have to be inside.. Also, watch for colouring in butter, sometimes it's added. Indoor chickens can be fed a degree of turmeric, which makes their eggs yellow. he doesn't mean they're healthier, although turmeric, is pretty harmless and possibly a benefit

My carnivore diet consists of fatty beef, bone broth, all natural sea salt, and water. Occasional extra sharp white cheddar (as a snack) and eggs once a week.
