Not forgiving yourself and pleasing others really hit me hard as I have issues on self forgiving as whenever I make mistakes, or is not even my fault, I put myself down and say how horrible I am. I think it didn’t help that I was bullied when I was little and I was the victim of toxic friendship as being the generous type, people took advantage of me for their own needs. Forgiving and loving yourself are vital and it’s okay to be selfish once a while. I’m still working on it. Bless you all.❤️

These are indeed my two main problems as well... I really I am not sure what could be the cause of it, once my memory is so terrible, but I've spent most of my life feeling like I am the most despicable and worthless being on the planet and, therefore, everything bad was my fault, and I should "make up for existing" by helping everyone around on everything... ... It's been getting better these last years, gladly... but I still find it really difficult to say no...

I also tend to subsequently start feeling like a frivolous person when I make a mistake, regardless of the significance thereof. Mistakes, criticism, and especially failing to comprehend information always makes me feel cognitively incompetent and inferior (╥﹏╥) However I am learning how to concede to my mistakes and forgive myself for making them. I consciously know that making mistakes does not diminish your intelligence nor does it signify intellectual inferiority, but there is an intrapsychic conflict within my mind in regards to this matter; I know that the aforesaid fact is true, but my subconscious denies it. However, I do not value intelligence excessively anymore. The accentuation on spiritual values has enhanced my life significantly, and thus I am more optimistic and harmonious (◠‿◠✿)

Oh yes, that was me, too. Being a people pleaser in my younger years, not wanting to upset anyone, I was used and taken advantage of as well. Over time, I've had to muster up courage to set boundaries and be more selective about helping people. It has made a huge difference in my life.

Two seriously ill men shared a room in a hospital. They both lay on their beds, but only one of them could stay seated for half the day. He had the advantage of being next to the only window in the room. His partner, on the other hand, was always lying on his back because he could not move. Every day when the first man sat down to look at the window just after lunch, he described everything he saw outside. In this way his companion who was in bed could "see" through him all things. The description was as follows: there was a park and a beautiful lake. Swans swam, children made paper boats in the water, and everything was a beautiful landscape in the distance. The man who was looking at the window described everything in detail, as if he were living it and his friend, lying on his back in that cold bed, imagined every scene. The days passed and one morning the nurse entered the room and saw that the man in the window had died, in the most peaceful way while he was sleeping. His roommate was extremely saddened by the news and asked the nurses to move his bed to the side of the window to see those beautiful things that his roommate was talking about. They did so and then left him alone in the room. He tried to get up on his elbows with difficulty, until he could see out the window, but his surprise was that all he saw was a huge white wall. He immediately called the nurse and asked desperately: "How could my friend see all these things and tell me about it?" She replied that her friend was blind and it was not possible that he had seen all those wonderful things. To comfort him he said: "He just wanted to cheer you up, because there is no better thing than other people want to make you happy, regardless of their own problems, because when you share happiness, it doubles." Have a wonderful day or night.🙆🌷🌷🌷

I absolutely hate gossiping. Sure, I've done it a few times, but I've grown to realize that I'm not excited to hear a bunch of people talking only bad about other people. It makes me sad whenever I pass people my age talking crap and putting down someone who I thought was their friend a few days ago. And whenever I start to judge someone a little too much, I put myself back in my place, remind my mind that they could be going through something, and move on.

Can you explain the difference between self-love and narcissism? I'm asking because I've heard claims that if a person practices self-love then it means that they are a narcissist. I think it's because both of them share the context of "putting themselves first". I would like a clarification on this. Thanks.
@kaseyburgess80042 жыл бұрын
I’m NO psychologist but the difference is that self love is basically appreciating your flaws and strengthen and accept yourself for who you are as a person. For narcissism, it means you value yourself others and think you’re better than others by basically boasting yourself, manipulating others to gain something you want, and you don’t take criticism or the answer “no” well.

@@kaseyburgess8004 woah that was such a good description I bet anyone that went in the replies would love to see this!
@danielhogan62552 жыл бұрын
Do you see yourself as superior to others or are you trying to build yourself up? If it's the first, your a narc, if the second is true your learning to value yourself. You can love yourself and still care for others, see them as equals and not be manipulative. Don't be afraid.
@kaseyburgess80042 жыл бұрын
Thanks, but I I just did my best to explain as I’ll admit, there are some things that can be confusing, but there are certain traits that makes it easy to spot. Three Keys for Self-Love and Narcissism Self-Love - Accepting or willing to learning your mistakes and flaws. - Being modest and truthful to yourself and others. - You don’t see yourself as superior or God like, but rather see yourself as you. Narcissism - Can’t spot any obvious flaws and can’t stand criticism. - Manipulate others for their own benefits and achievements. - Always see themselves as superior and taunt others who are considered “lower” than them.

My alternative to gossiping is turning people into characters in my book. I exaggerate as much as I want because I change the details enough to make them fiction.
@juliaostlund93602 жыл бұрын
I think some of this is really basic. Gossip isn't actually all that bad. Functionally gossip was used to keep the community informed, and actually reinforces mutual trust of being in your inner circle. Gossip is really just communicating information, with discretion it can be a very powerful tool. It's not the same as talking shit or spreading rumors, and there should be clarity and distinction between the two.

I have the habit that I am not brave enough to say no in my family. Yes, outside i know how to say no but the thing is I really fear my family. They dont make me bad things but When I dont like the thing or I dont wanna eat dat or something i cant just say no. Even when i was just a little baby i would never cry for hunger. Im so weird
