A do recommend spending quite a few hours playing with the mini dsp to find the right eq curve you like. I like ruining the really low frequencies a little hot to add more impact to the explosions and also because our hearing is less sensitive in the low regions so you do want to compensate asuming you get that head room in the sub.
@JavonDGreen4 жыл бұрын
If your AVR allows you to set distance of your subwoofers you can change the distance on one of them to add a delay if you don’t have a mini DSP at the moment. Works well. You can use and SPL as you increase or lower the distance, however you will hear a huge audible difference.

Regarding speaker placement if they can be moved forward from the wall do it. Can help reflections, bass and imaging. Moreso if rear ported.

Absolutely. I’ve moved mine about 2 ports distance from the wall. Massive improvement :)

Another great video! I like the camera angle and the sweet Klipsch copper sub in subtly placed in the corner :) I think you're going to see a great improvement in your setup once you get the acoustic panels completed and dive into miniDSP. I'm curious on your thoughts about 7.2 vs. 5.2.2 / 5.2.4. Atmos sounds like it is awesome, but older content doesnt support it. Even rear surround channels are newer and old content doesn't utilize them.
@BuildMontage4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Matt, your suggestions helped with the new camera angles :) regarding 7.2 and 5.2.4 or Atmos in general, if I watch something that has Atmos it’s a far more engaging experience. Watching the new “Snowpiercer” series on Netflix it’s got Atmos encoding and when you hear noises above, behind, around you it’s crazy how you feel like your there on the train with them. As more movies and tv shows have Atmos added it’s only going to become more mainstream. That isn’t to say you are losing out on a 7.2 because you still get the wide immersion but that overhead sound is very cool.

Hey man! Love your videos. Glad I found your channel. I have few questions and I would really, really appreciate it if you can help me out with it. So I will be going all in with my home theatre. JVC NX7, klipsch Dolby Atmos 7.2.4, Denon x6500, full acoustic treatment etc. My first question is, if I get 7.2.4 speakers, do I need to add surround speakers as well? Like klipsch RP 502s. Because if yes, that will make 7.2.6 & I will have to probably get one more receiver to support those. Please let me know if it’s necessary to get those or it’s totally optional. My second question is, how do you handle air ventilation!? I will have a dedicated theatre room in my basement and I’m scratching my head about how does air ventilation will work in it. That’s all I have for now. Thank you very much!❤️

The harmony elite does support Sony PlayStation. You have to pair it via Bluetooth like you would the PlayStation add on remote. And yes they are an awesome remote, worth every penny.
@BuildMontage4 жыл бұрын
Oh ok, I didn't know that. When you say "pair" I assume it loses it's ability to communicate via the HUB? I guess I'll find out soon enough. Vid coming soon is going to be deep dive into the Harmoney Elite!
@glenweston92924 жыл бұрын
It still communicates with the hub for all other devices in the activity, it just communicates with the PlayStation via Bluetooth. You can do the same with the Plex media player on a PC if it has Bluetooth.

About your subs not sounding right. Have you tried setting the phase on one sub at 0 and the other at 180?

@victorpulos8234 жыл бұрын
Build Montage does this mean the in ceiling speakers can make bass or no
@colincams4 жыл бұрын
Speakers are capable of going to 45 Hz. Mine are similiar and have set crossover at 60Hz.
@BuildMontage4 жыл бұрын
Victor Pulos yes they can. I have set my crossovers to 80hz and I can’t set individually which is a pain but it seems to work. I will adjust once I get all my acoustic treatment done and minidsp set up. Might experiment with a lower crossover frequency. Shame my receiver doesn’t allow me to set the crossovers individually.

Hi Tony, what would you say is best way to reduce noise to next room, via wooden door. Mrs likes to sit there in eve when I sometimes go in cinema room . Most of the noise goes through the door I believe
@BuildMontage2 жыл бұрын
It's very difficult to contain/stop sound leakage once you have already built the room. Most of what you can do in that respect is usually done during construction, such as building a room within a room, and de-coupling the room from the main shell. It's difficult to do after you build but you could put acoustic panels to help absorb some of the sound and make sure you try to seal the gaps in the door with something like a Raven Seal.
Hey man one question, which ups you use for your home theater, what is the total watts of all your electrical equipment and how much your ups can handle, can you make a video on this or please answer here. I asked in discord app but may be my message not visible to you.

If one of ur subs is in front of u facing u and the other is behind u facing ur back try switching one of them to 180 degrees.
@BuildMontage4 жыл бұрын
Do you mean so they are both facing the same way?
@briankt694 жыл бұрын
Build Montage no there is a switch on the back of the subs that says 0or180 the phase switch. If ur subs are facing each other from across the room they pretty much fighting each other and the sound waves are hitting each other and canceling out. So u have to put 1 out of phase,

What about screen masks? Has to be the simplest way to improve a home theater setup, and is essential to any basic theater.
@BuildMontage Жыл бұрын
I wish screen masking was "simple" - I have struggled with a masking system for my screen to the point I still don't have one in! I have a hinge system which complicates it and also it's 16:9 so it does make it more difficult - but masking is an excellent way to improve your experience for sure.
