My kiddo Is same size as yours.For comparison in Poland PW or TTR new are about 1800-1900$ and YCF is 1200$ new. I really wanted to get him a PW but its just to expensive for what it is. Second hand market here is crazy as well , little to choose from , rotten beaten up Pw's at 800-900$ ,finally I got him YCF 50 in good nick for 700$.Happy days :) BTW YCF is French company but theyre Chinese made using Zongshen engine, kinda upper market for Chinese .Thanks for sharing !

How do you think the YCF compares to a CRF50?

Two completely different machines , the ycf has better suspension and brakes more of a mx bike whereas the crf50 is more of a trail bike. They both run similarly

Does the ycf have stiff enough suspension I am also looking at Crf 50 and was wondering if they both had stiff suspension that can hold an adult with bottoming out too bad

My opinion the ycf has better suspension and I think more travel

Is there a way to stiffen the back suspension on the YCF? I bought one but bottom out when I try to move it for the kids.

I played with the gearing alittle but for the most part stock was best , you kinda got what you got. If you need a faster bike look at the ktm50sx or senior 2017 or newer
