I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and after a year of starving and it getting better I googled how to lower blood sugar.

One of my friends told me that her nephew and his wife had gone on this diet (that's what she called it) and lost lots of weight. Not knowing what she was talking about I asked her to get the information from them. Turned out, it was Keto. I started it and that was 4 years ago and made many mistakes along the way. Research was the best answer so that's what I did. I lost 40 pounds in 31/2 months and have maintained the weight loss.

I was looking at and researching gastric bypass videos and some mentioned keto. So that began my keto journey and the rest is 6+ yrs. history. With no surgery! thankfully!

Thanks for the video. I work in the ER we use to have LND so pregnant women 20+ weeks went straight up to OB Triage and would skip the ER. The hospital closed it because they wanted a more profitable specialty now it's always a shitshow when imminent deliveries come in because you have people with limited experience dealing with the situation.
@RandomKeto Жыл бұрын
Well I went to the ER entrance because all the others were closed due to Covid. The lady in triage didn't want to admit me! The ER nurse was definitely NOT prepared. She kept trying to make me sit in a wheelchair chair as I felt him crowning. I was like "I will sit on my son's head, he's coming right now!" She didn't believe me, yelled at me for being dramatic, told me to calm down and tried to physically force me down. Fortunately my husband held me up long enough, and when baby was born the nurse proceeded to absolutely PANIC. I then GLADLY sat down 😂😂😂
@briand5379 Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry you had a bad experience. The covid days have definitely been difficult times and will remain challenging for years to come. Your situation sounds about right, if there's one thing I've learned from my time in the ER, it's we don't like to do things the easy way. The last birth we had the other week did not go well and the baby's sugar kept dropping. We couldn't find any medical grade glucose tubes, so we had to resort to dissolving a sugar packet from the kitchen in some water. Getting placement for both the baby and mom didn't go as planned. Then had to send the baby with a NICU team by ground downtown because their helicopter was down without a pilot. Yep, definitely can't do things the easy way.

Thanks for sharing your story, I think more of us should share our stories and put the case for a healthier lifestyle on Keto! I developed gestational diabetes during my second pregnancy and was slapped on insulin straight away. ( oddly enough I had pre-eclampsia with my first child at 34 weeks no-one has ever explained if there was a connection!) At my 6week check 8 was feeling awful and told I had full blown insulin dependant diabetes at age 27 with two young kids🥹 I basically ignored my own health and suffered with eye problems 30 years later. I found low carb when I started on an insulin pump 5 years ago after being forced to have large amounts of carbs to soak up the insulin and eating ‘low fat’ everything for years. I suddenly saw the light after reading Dr Bernsteins book. I’m now Keto - I tried it for two weeks and never went back. If only all diabetics were encouraged to eat Keto they would be so much healthier!
@RandomKeto Жыл бұрын
Wow, what a roller coaster of a story! Thank you for sharing! I'm so glad you finally found something that improved your health. I think it's genuinely criminal that diabetics aren't encouraged to eat low carb. Makes me so angry that it's ruing people's lives-they're even losing actual limbs! But just left in ignorance. Ridiculous.

Thank you for sharing. I worked in the medical profession for 20+ yrs and I don’t trust them either. I’ve yo yo dieted for yrs until I decided to have the Bariatric surgery. It was successful in the sense I was taken off all meds , diabetes, cholesterol, high blood pressure) and I did lose 65lbs. I also dealt with a nutritionist. However all they taught me was how to eat less not healthy. Not keto healthy. I was still allowed to eat carbs and sugar just in a reduced manner. I too came across Dr berg and it changed my life. I can go on and on but I’ll just end that with dr berg and all the keto cooking channels (including yours) has changed me in many ways and I appreciate you all❤️

I too had been sick with so many different illnesses and trusted the Drs to help me but in reality they made things worse. I began to research and finally found Keto. I tried it and began to finally start feeling better and eventually got off of the drugs the Drs had been giving me and lost 45 lbs. when I had my checkup with my Drs she asked how I lost the weight and I told her Keto. She said “Keto, I know about Keto” and I asked why she didn’t tell me? But she didn’t answer. Well I’ll tell you why she didn’t tell me because she just made tons of money off me by doing surgery to enlarge my esophagus and giving me drugs that I would never be able to get off of but I refused to take these drugs. Dr. Eric Berg and Dr Ken Berry on KZbin are great sources of information. I have been Keto now for 4 yrs and plan to live this way forever. In 2022 I also had 4 gallbladder attacks in 1 month and they are quite painful and I opted to have it removed. Yes the Dr acted like it was no big deal, didn’t really take the time to answer my questions and scheduled me for surgery. I do feel better but now I am so distrustful of Drs. Anyway you look wonderful and I’m so happy you found Keto. I love your channel and have so enjoyed watching you.

Way to go girl, I lost 73 in 7 months. Now I’m at a stall, major cutdown on sugar alcohols plus heavy cream. Back to organic half/half. No more nut flours also. For January to see if these were the issues( which I know it is). I find now Almond flour gives me headaches. So it has to go. I did great through Christmas I had one Keto chocolate chip cookie, that’s it. Did not snack. All my blood work with the exception of my INR.( bloodthinners) where I’m having a hard time. Vitamin D3, magnesium, iron, B vitamins, vitamin C are excellent.Bone density scan, I have arthritis in behind my knee cap. Dr said chiropractor can fix this. What was weird was having spotting while I’m post menopause. I did tons of research on this. When you do Keto, carnivore etc. The lining of your uterus sheds. And I was correct, still my Dr booked me for DNC. No cancer Thanks to God Above. So onward I go. Happy New Year 🥳✨🎊🎉✨🥳to your beautiful family. This month I’m doing 80/20. High fat, low carb. That’s the only thing I track is my micros and protein. I keep my protein at 30, carbs at 20, fat at 200.

To us, heavy carbs are like what nuts are to those who have nut allergies, or what gluten versus celiac disease or IBS. Accepting that can be a challenge. I argued profusely with God about how unfair it was that I cannot enjoy what he created. Not a great thing to do by the way.....good thing he loves us.😀
