I genuinely love that the oils forced their way in to such great visual effect, the three stages shown side by side made appreciating time spent vs visual value obvious. In this vid the speed of the overall painted project came not from gimmicks or new paint ranges, but from careful consideration of a relatively simple livery, and the consequent palette arising. Really love the red particularly. Great vid

Thank you Phil. I was a little unhappy with all the white until all the bases where painted. Then it sort of all came together.

@@52Miniatures I usually paint my models detached from the bases and sometimes the balance is off because the final effect isn't there yet. Instead my basing often becomes constrained not to throw the balance off, I think my best basing is the opposite tho, when the model needs a little something from it to set it off retroactively. Marking moments of genius as I watch another 52 Miniatures Premiere: The light glowing out of the box was brilliant... no pun intended. The future is grim, dark and full of little bricks. Like a long night with your lover... whoa I wasn't expecting that. That little canister under the gun shouts, "Marshmallows Beware!" "and next week you'll see a 52 Miniatures video of me hiding under my bed". (Yes, please). Painting white, black and brown is a challenge (tell me about it.. but hey it's more interesting than khaki, olive drab and gray.. trust me). Money does seem to grown when collected generations ago, like pumpkin on a compost. Yes, but don't tell that to Ayn Rand. In the grim dark world, there are not only bricks, but also other folk that most surely will scratch your armour. Sort of like planet Earth. I ride my bike fast and paint my minis slow... I think you're channeling John Wayne here.. in a world where the Duke was into miniature painting of course. Okay, I'm only a third of the way through and the script and your narration keep getting better and better while right before my eyes, we have a Black Templar emerging in all his glory. So, I'm just going to enjoy the final 20 minutes with no more tapping on my keyboard. Nominations for best fantasy/sci fi video script of the year are now open and ... reserve a spot for Alex. Well done, well done.

I so heavily identify with the multitudes of dice being rolled for no result. I did it with a target where I rolled 6 dice and only needed one of them to be a 2 or better to kill the target. 6 ones later my opponent was busy showing anyone he could to prove he was immortal and should be handed the trophy now.

13:40 with "specific airbrush paints" you mean the Vallejo Metal Color line (the Magnesium and Gold you showed earlier in the video)? If so, than those most defiantly are acrylic based paints and don't interact with white spirit at all. They are in fact tougher than most other acrylics (most metal paints are). They most likely contain some kind of alcohol though and that one of the reasons their surface tension is low and also why they tend to dry a little faster (and also why custom mixes containing these paints can't be stored for very long if there is enough air in the container for the alcohol to evaporate into).
@52Miniatures Жыл бұрын
I don’t know what to say. The Vallejo Airbush metallics shown in the video rub of when using the odorless white spirit I’ve got. It also happened last time on my terminators.
@Wijkert Жыл бұрын
@@52Miniatures it must be the rubbing itself, instead of the chemical interaction. Either that or your white spirits are a special kind of blend. You could test this on a piece of sprue to double check.
