As a woman that has to have solid boots for work, it’s frustrating to hear all these excuses companies throw around. Thank you for calling those out, and thank you Nicks for making boots for women to the same standard you hold for your men’s boots. This channel introduced me to this brand and i’m glad you did. I’m seriously starting to save up in order to get me a pair eventually. Also, thank you for doing these investigations into boot construction. I’m currently having to look into replacing the work boots I’ve had for almost 5 years now, and these videos are invaluable to me as i figure out what i want to try.

Same. I like well made and fashionable. I ended up ordering the ND2s partly out of spite because red wing wouldn't make iron rangers in gunmetal to match my wifes. My feet are really wide so it's super frustrating when brands don't offer different widths in their women's boots despite offering it in all their men's boots. Back when I lived in NYC I had a sturdy pair of boots I wore every winter and bad weather day and they were invaluable. A side vent is how workwear companies like Carhartt making women's pants form fitting, low rise, and from thinner/cheaper materials. It's infuriating. We need work pants too. Thick fabric for protection, large, multiple pockets, and loose enough that we can actually put things in those pockets, and mid to high rise. Carhartt's quality in general has been slipping for well over decade. I have two of the rain defender hoodies from the late 2000s and comparing to the new ones you would have to pay an extra 20 or 30 bucks to get what was standard ten years ago. Carhartt is moving more towards fashion as opposed to function and it shows in their quality and price increases.

I also remember Nicks talking about ommiting that blake stitch for material shortage reasons - it is the same thread they use to sew the whole boot together, so it is just a way to keep the production going. Either get rid of that stitch, or halt the production, basically that is what Nicks said.

I use to burn through cheaper boots every 3 to 4 months and without researching went out and got Docs based on what fellow musicians told me, and I've been kind of wishing I put the money toward Nick's or White's boots. While I don't mind wearing a men's boots, it's awesome to see Nick's puts the same construction and care into the women's! And if I recall these took more pressure to puncture than the Jungle Boot which had a steel plate throughout it (I saw it recently as I"m new to the channel, I think it was 304lbs to puncture?). I may have bought a pair of nicks largely because of this channel. I am a woman who bought just by size, not any female version but what was available for immediate shipping and it looks like I got the right size, half a size down from my usual and plenty wide! I intend to make a video when I get them broken in which is taking a looong time because there’s not many videos with the female perspective. One of the most attractive things about Nick's is that everything about them, from their company size to their customer base forces them to be very deliberate about the choices they make. IMO it wouldn't make sense to source cheaper materials and add a new production line all to make a lower quality women's boot. If they were a huge corporation or something they could easily outsource that and maybe make money. But they are not. Plus, I'd argue that whatever your gender, if you are shopping for a Nick's boot you are shopping for durability/leather quality that the brand is know for. It just makes sense to keep quality the same.

As a woman, I watch your channel all the time. I've been waiting for you to do women's shoes. I love this. However I have bought all of my father's shoes for the last couple of years. And he is a 10 and a half 4 to 5e. It is so hard to find him shoes I would love love for you to do some reviews on wide men's work shoes. It's gotten to the point to where we're probably going to have to go to Nick's and have him some custom made. He's 82 but he still works so much around his property and mine. It's interesting to see how brands play with mens and womens boots/shoes, and even with apparel like clothes and stuff. Women's clothes and shoes are typically priced way higher than mens counterparts because I guess we shop more and are willing to pay more for some reason? Just go to any clothing store and look through the womens and mens sections, you'll see the same brands charging way more for like a womens t shirt than a mens for instance even if theyre made of the same material and look about the same.

as a boot wearing woman, you never covered the issue that bothers me.... toe space. womans boots are often cut so that you cant have both a big toe and a little toe and often there is less height so no wiggle room, when wearing all day this is really importaint! i usally buy mens boots so i can walk

The other thing about that stitch inside the boot is that while it might make it stronger does it really need to be stronger? Do boots ever fail there? If they always wear out somewhere else first there's no point in making that area stronger.

okay, I think Nick's is gonna be my best choice! I'm VERY impressed. I was already impressed with the men's boots, but seeing that they make the women's boots the same way is refreshing. it shouldn't be unusual, but it is! and BTW, the more women's shoes you look at, the more viewers you'll have, as you'll continue to grow and you'll also gain more of the population as potential viewers. you might lose a few, but I think any quality male viewer should be able to put up with a video about women's boots/sneakers here and there. Would be cool to see heritage or one piece leather hiking boots that come in EE or even EEE. Some custom Limmers from New Hampshire too. It’s so hard to find wide and extra wide boots, and even harder to find ones that also have a nice tight heel pocket.
