Any of the t-shirts Brie loves but doesn’t wear you could always turn into a t-shirt quilt. I think there are places online that will make them for you if you send the shirts in. That’s what my sister and I did with all our college and high school shirts that we feel are sentimental and didn’t want to donate even though we don’t wear them.

PSA: do NOT keep medications in your bathroom. Medications degrade in heat and humidity, both of which happen in a bathroom. Medications should be kept in a cool, dry place. Kristen’s nightstand is a great area to store meds! Storing medications improperly mean they don’t work as well and could be potentially harmful.

It's hilarious because she runs between "OMG I love this" and "Why do I have this I hate it go to hell" with that one dash of "I'm showing you this because I'm bragging about it" (which, BTW, freaking sweet shirt, girl!) Then when you add Kristen's "You need to get rid of things!" and "Wait, that's brand new!" mixed messages, Ya'll are hilarious AND adorable together. Random tip re: "those pills just showed up one day and nobody claimed them but I don't want to throw away someone else's medication" I have a little bin that lives by my front door, and its only job is to keep things for someone else--things that got left at my house and/or things that I'm passing on/gifting. You have to also add a routine where when you're going to visit someone or when someone has visited and is leaving, to Check The Bin Every Time. It helps me so much. If there's a too big for the basket thing, I put a post-it inside with a note about what, for who, and where I stashed it.

I just saw the first video a few days ago! I am currently in the process of moving and this has been so helpful. I’m somebody who takes a lot of meds, (I take 7 Rx daily and I have some otc I take regularly but not daily) and this is my system that works for me: I have a basket that I keep in a cupboard that has the bottles, and I use a weekly pill box to hold my daily meds, and I keep that on a table. When I refill every week, I just pull that bin out and fill the weekly box. I keep my OTC medications in a different bin, and vitamins on a shelf.

I live with too many people, adults and kids. I keep saying we need to organize, labels would be awesome for me. I haven't been diagnosed with anything but the lack of organization makes my skin crawl. My depression, and most likely anxiety lol, then make me give up on trying as soon as I get overwhelmed or meet a hurdle; like kids destroying all the cleaning I've spent the weekend doing. Thank you for the video and being honest with your struggles, it makes mine seem manageable if I put in the work, and work smarter. 💜💜
@morgensellier78162 жыл бұрын
Something I (as an adult child) have found works well is designating certain spaces as "mine to dirty" and others as "shared to keep tidy." Usually I do some kind of round-up at night where I gather my things and put them back in my space. EG. I paint in the living room, but the supplies need to go back to MY room by the end of the day. Because it's my room to do whatever in, I don't worry about finding a "proper" place. It's not the way my parents would do it, but because the mess is in my private space, they get to ignore it and I don't have to stress about cleaning EVERYTHING. Maybe that would work for your kiddos, too?

Doing an honest follow up was such a great thing because it shows how life happens and nothing just stays 'perfect'! Also as I'm watching this and stuff that both Juliana and Kristen talk about rings home when it comes my ADHD brain and it feels so good! Like I've struggled with object permanence and orginising everything pretty much my entire life (you won't be able to tell because I anxiety clean a lot and also I move around often so purges in stuff are a must) but all those things that were mentioned sound like so easy and workable solutions. None of the organising content stuff I worked before made me feel like I actually can do it, as much as this one did. They all just make me feel bad like it's something I will never ever, ever be able to do. And this one did just the opposite, this is doable, it's not out of reach at all. Thank you, thank you so much.

I was so happy to see the first video because it made me feel less wrecked, and I had no idea how even more deeply wonderful an update would be. So good. So needed. I did just buy a few more organizational tools last month that have cleaned up my closets, which were a bit of a wreck, so I subconsciously did the same thing as you guys.

Props to both you and the organisation team for a good job that you maintain well. I thought and still think that you are super visual people and get on best with open storage and clear bins - everything can be seen and grabbed easily with no lid or door barriers. Shows how good the storage system and also your effort is that you are using it even though things are hidden. Remember how you had stuff literally all over the bathroom but a totally empty bathroom cupboard. I also think clear bins by the door (maybe three eg for different shoe types/people) for shoes that you can shake off your feet into the bin when you get home would work well for you. You seem more inclined to look for the shoes when leaving the house than putting them nicely on a shoe rack when you get in. Love that you put the stickers on the cart. Stickers are made to be seen 🙂

Thank you for this update video ! This is honestly very inspiring and very relatable. Everytime I organise things, and assign spaces for things, they somehow work, but then shortly after they get disorganised again. I always thought its just me being 'undisciplined' or something like that. This really helped me realise that the disorganisation is probably because the system I made needs more fine tuning, or needs to solve the inconveniences that come from it. It feels good to know I'm not the only one struggling with "keeping things organised" long term, and it helps to know it doesn't necessary stem from myself, but the system isn't efficient as I initially thought it would be.

A great tip for people that love makeup and retro/vintage furniture, buy a vintage beautiful sewing kit. One of those that fold out. Mine is made of wood and has a handle and legs like a tiny table.Line the many rooms in the kit with pretty paper (I used gift wrapping paper, as that was on hand) and sort your makeup and brushes into each room. Big palettes and such go in the bottom area. Its so nice having lots of space and it still being a pretty piece of furniture.
