@@Jcr2446First thing I did was eliminate all inflammatory foods - all dairy, processed foods (potato chips, cookies, crackers, etc) all fried foods, all packaged meals, all alcohol, all drinks except lemon water, green tea and herbal teas. I then researched on optimal "gut health" so I incorporated lots of veggies, blueberries, sauerkraut, kimchi, etc. I added omega 3's through foods like salmon, sardines and chia seeds. I then focused on sleep being sure I went to bed at the same time and got at least 8-9 hours a night. Then I got strict on my exercise making sure I walked 3-5 miles 4-5 days a week, light weights and then hiking in the summer. I take vitamin D3 5,000 every single day and am consistent in making sure my levels are between 70-90. I am strict on getting my blood work to be sure I don't have to change anything and get my blood marker of C-Reactive Protein done (CRP) to make sure it is under 1 and most years it is 0. My biggest concern now is managing stress and as we know, that is hard to eliminate when you have a family so I am taking more time to relax, pray, read and respect my body when it gives me signs of being overwhelmed. I hope this was helpful to the two individuals that asked about my diet and lifestyle.

I made my husband an apple pie using coconut flour and honey as substitute ingredients to make the pie crust. I also left the skin on the apples, used half sugar, half Stevia as sweetener and Xanthum gum in place of Cornstarch to thicken the "sauce." The pie was excellent....hubby really enjoyed it too. 😊

I use to love eating tortilla chips in a Mexican restaurant. I couldn’t stop eating them. Then I heard they typically fry them in seed oil and not only that…they recycle the oil and use it over and over. I’m sure the same is true for donuts. Now I wouldn’t touch either with a ten-foot pole.

Thank you for the information. I needed to hear this again. I eat relatively healthy but have dined out a few times this week and my body swelled up and I looked 20 lbs heavier. Not joking. I was afraid to step on the scale. I thought let me intermittent fast for a few days and eat low carb to get some relief. Well after 1 day of I.F., low carbs and lemon water the swelling went down considerably and it reminded me that it was INFLAMMATION that swelled me up and made me feel horrible. It was a reminder that I cannot eat out like that. My meals must be prepared at home. Thank you for a great video to help drive this home for me. You are the best! ❤❤

I am in a situation where I have to live with my children in my parents’ house and they are feeding my small children a lot of unhealthy inflammatory foods and would even sneak behind my back and still do it, regardless of how much I try to explain they’re bad and my wishes about my kids are not being respected when I ask them to not offer these processed and unhealthy foods especially hard sugary sweets and crisps. Any advice on how to approach them differently? They are undermining my authority as a mother and think these things are harmless especially for children. I’ve heard somewhere else that children cannot expel toxins from their bodies like adults, which would make them even more vulnerable no?

I suffered with acne as a teenager, and looking back it's because my parents would usually cook with vegetable oil. Anything greasy like pepperoni pizza or deep fried foods would make my acne worse.
