@@Jcr2446First thing I did was eliminate all inflammatory foods - all dairy, processed foods (potato chips, cookies, crackers, etc) all fried foods, all packaged meals, all alcohol, all drinks except lemon water, green tea and herbal teas. I then researched on optimal "gut health" so I incorporated lots of veggies, blueberries, sauerkraut, kimchi, etc. I added omega 3's through foods like salmon, sardines and chia seeds. I then focused on sleep being sure I went to bed at the same time and got at least 8-9 hours a night. Then I got strict on my exercise making sure I walked 3-5 miles 4-5 days a week, light weights and then hiking in the summer. I take vitamin D3 5,000 every single day and am consistent in making sure my levels are between 70-90. I am strict on getting my blood work to be sure I don't have to change anything and get my blood marker of C-Reactive Protein done (CRP) to make sure it is under 1 and most years it is 0. My biggest concern now is managing stress and as we know, that is hard to eliminate when you have a family so I am taking more time to relax, pray, read and respect my body when it gives me signs of being overwhelmed. I hope this was helpful to the two individuals that asked about my diet and lifestyle.

I retired 3 years ago from working in healthcare. One thing that bothered me the most was going into a cancer patient's room and there would be a plethora of highly processed, sugary treats! I'm pretty sure doctors do not tell patients that cancer feeds on sugar. Absolute shame.

Thank you for the information. I needed to hear this again. I eat relatively healthy but have dined out a few times this week and my body swelled up and I looked 20 lbs heavier. Not joking. I was afraid to step on the scale. I thought let me intermittent fast for a few days and eat low carb to get some relief. Well after 1 day of I.F., low carbs and lemon water the swelling went down considerably and it reminded me that it was INFLAMMATION that swelled me up and made me feel horrible. It was a reminder that I cannot eat out like that. My meals must be prepared at home. Thank you for a great video to help drive this home for me. You are the best! ❤❤

I grew up in a German household. My father forbade anything but butter and olive oil, safflower oil in our household. We had a huge vegetable and fruit garden. As kids we helped and cleaned up the gooseberries, currants etc for jam. This was in the early 1960s. They had been subscribers to Organic gardening as well. OMGoodness instead of spinach we had comfrey! It was like a rubber cow pie on the plate. I refused to eat that. But I have taken all that inventory learned over the years to help my family and grandkids. My sons have a farm to table restaurant here in southern Illinois. I work with them to help choose the seeds for the garden. They get their beef from Neiman Ranch, which is grass fed beef. I love participating in supporting all the fresh ingredients for the garden during the garden season.

Hi Dr. Axe, I wake up at 2:30 am heavy heart beat in mid torso almost every night. Pins and needles in feet, hands and mouth. How would you personally check what that is from? Upper GI? Diabetes panel? Thanks for any help. Desperate, been to Dr.'s, nothing off balance enough to warrant this.

thanks for commenting, I had a Lyme infection 6 months back 3 weeks of AB.. led to Sibo/ Sifo. It's getting better.. yesturday I eat homemade cheesy pop corn.. heavy pulsing during sleep was at it's Lowest. 🧐 I Did have slight Acid reflux upon awakening.. better now. If I had colitis I would think my bowels would be upset from the cheesy popcorn😂. @@marilynmitchell2712

11:19 are you serious? Animals are not fed antibiotics. Farmers are incredibly regulated and cannot obtain antibiotics willy-nilly to give whenever they think there is a problem. I onow many farmers and some are huge operations .. they cannot do this. If any animal is treated eith an antibiotic it has not be removed from priduction until it tests clean. Cows are removed from the milking line and all milk from that cow is dumped. If their bulk tank tests positive for antibiotics they will loose the entire tank. The dairy processor will dump their whole tank. That is theie whole paycheck.

I use real maple syrup in my home made eggnog. Put a little almond oil in there along with the vanilla and other spices. Yummy,

At 9:51 It sounds like you said, "organic processed meat is terrible." Did you mean non-organic or are all processed meats terrible? For example, organic hot dogs and bacon.
