Best part of the Roku app - if you use a password manager like LastPass that has a phone app as well, you can copy/paste your complex passwords for various channels right into the keyboard in the app instead of having the use the clunky onscreen keyboard to type that long mess of a password.

It wasn’t mentioned - but you can set photos from your phone’s library album as screensavers as well as a clock widget and - for ten bucks - a weather widget. I have about 80 hi-res nature pics from trips to Europe, Asia etc. and I get a lot of compliments on it when people see it in the background. It looks great.

I am 70 years old, and I've done my best to keep up with tech. But my TV watching experience is still in the Jurassic era. I would like to see a good video about what a Roku is. I can't really understand my Samsung TV. It's two years old and it's too old to download the Apple TV app. There needs to be a good video on the basics of how to watch TV for old people, LOL! Auto levelling is great. And about time someone thought of it. Loud adverts that get you reaching for the remote don't bother you now.. Most people will figure these tips out eventually. But the roku offers more through apps. Watch someone you know as they upload live as it happen from their phone. So let's say your sister is on holiday. She can show you on your TV what its like in Ibiza at 2am as it happens. No delay. Lag or buffering. Live camera feed.. You'll be on the next flight 🌅

Some great features are mentioned that "are" available...but I am frustrated that you didn't do a step-by-step on "how" to use each function. Perhaps you have separate videos for this purpose(?) I was interested in the "private listening" function. My app doesn't have a picture of headphones to activate this function, but you mentioned connecting via Bluetooth. Screen mirroring. You can access HBO Max on your phone (or PC) and can turn on screen mirroring with the Roku box. Then the audio/video from the phone is on the TV. It isn't a perfect fix but at least I can watch HBO Max on my bedroom TV now when I couldn't before. Google search "screen mirroring phone to roku" for help.

Roku actually talks like Alexa but very limited. She can read what you're watching on your screen. She can tell you what time is it when the time isn't visual on the screen while you watching a movie or TV show and she can also can tell you the month and day. You have to turn on the text-to-speech feature on and you need the latest remote control with the mic just press the mic button and ask her . Those are the only commands I tested so far besides asking roku to start an app to watch or movie or show . She cannot tell you what the weather is, she cannot tell you a joke nor sing to you but hopefully in the near future they give Roku more commands.

For #3, you do this from the * menu when in an app, playing content. It cannot be done from the settings menu, where software updates are performed for example.

Bluetooth device setting is not available on all Roku TVs. I believe this is only a 6 and 8 series feature.

I like when the smart TV has Roku as the interface. All in one. You can use the HDhomeRun for over the air channels. And use the Thor petite ATSC modulator to sent the @ Receiver for C band channels!

I found that leveling doesn't always work for me. Certain things, especially some movies, come out slightly garbled. The setting I like is high treble.

The youtube app on roku tv does not like sound leveling. It will either garble the sound or mute it completely. Sometimes netflix gets mad with leveling too but it's usually fine.

My Roku devise has an USB port. I got frequent stalls where that little spinning circle appeared in the center of the screen. Also the thing would blank screen and then restart a few seconds earlier. I put a 16GB flash drive into the port and now the things runs fine.

With one of the best cat? cable connected to the cable box HDMI port on my Samsung TV and I am getting HDCP problems like interuptions/pauses during changes of content like ads. I had a cheaper HDMI cable and thought that was the reason, but a newer/better HDMI cable is still doing that, not as bad, but do you think it is the cable or the port? I am using the ARC port for the TV to the Receiver so I don't think I want to switch, but would that be better for my connected ROKU ULTRA?

Just purchased a new 2021 ROKU TV made by TCL for the Canadian market and the sound settings for Auto Sound Leveling, Volume Mode and Speech Clarity do not exist. Volume Settings can only be set to High/Medium/Low/Off.
