Best part of the Roku app - if you use a password manager like LastPass that has a phone app as well, you can copy/paste your complex passwords for various channels right into the keyboard in the app instead of having the use the clunky onscreen keyboard to type that long mess of a password.

It wasn’t mentioned - but you can set photos from your phone’s library album as screensavers as well as a clock widget and - for ten bucks - a weather widget. I have about 80 hi-res nature pics from trips to Europe, Asia etc. and I get a lot of compliments on it when people see it in the background. It looks great.

I like when the smart TV has Roku as the interface. All in one. You can use the HDhomeRun for over the air channels. And use the Thor petite ATSC modulator to sent the @ Receiver for C band channels!

My recent 55" TCL 6-series (55R625) doesn't offer sound leveling. I've looked all over for it, because there is a _huge_ volume difference between streams and inputs. I think there might be an option for it if you use the TV's built-in speakers, but who wants to do _that?_

Auto levelling is great. And about time someone thought of it. Loud adverts that get you reaching for the remote don't bother you now.. Most people will figure these tips out eventually. But the roku offers more through apps. Watch someone you know as they upload live as it happen from their phone. So let's say your sister is on holiday. She can show you on your TV what its like in Ibiza at 2am as it happens. No delay. Lag or buffering. Live camera feed.. You'll be on the next flight 🌅

With one of the best cat? cable connected to the cable box HDMI port on my Samsung TV and I am getting HDCP problems like interuptions/pauses during changes of content like ads. I had a cheaper HDMI cable and thought that was the reason, but a newer/better HDMI cable is still doing that, not as bad, but do you think it is the cable or the port? Nice video, already knew all of this by fiddling around with mine haha but, I have a tip/advice if you're using the leveling option and you have a home theater, apps like Netflix won't give you dolby digital, dts etc surround sound that is because you're capping the dynamic range, you have to disable audio leveling in order to enjoy the correct output for movies with DD+, DTS, Dolby atmos! So, I mainly use it when I'm watching with my TV speakers and volumes are a bit to soft or not loud enough! :D

Private Listening Mode via the mobile app does not work on the OG Roku 3. I've tried this off an on for quite a while with the Roku OS 100% up to date along with the mobile app being up to date and the option does not exist no matter what headphones I use on the phone. It was not supported in the mobile app when the 3 was new and still isn't even though it would be fairly simple to enable it in the codebase since all the other Roku models have this option.

I have an issue with Auto Leveling the Sound, whenever I would go on KZbin it would randomly just stop playing audio all together. Once it affected KZbin I would have to unplug the TV or just take the Auto Leveling off, I could put it back on but if an Ad played I would have to redo the process....now I just keep the Leveling off 24/7, I did love it a lot tho.

The youtube app on roku tv does not like sound leveling. It will either garble the sound or mute it completely. Sometimes netflix gets mad with leveling too but it's usually fine.
