I have always loved the idea of creating an image from a random watercolor background, especially using salt in it. I did a series of angels doing this technique back in my college years. It is a fun way to open your mind up to seeing something new. I love your work so much and actually have several of your books too. Please keep sharing how you make such beautiful designs!

Love your tarot deck and all your art. I really enjoy watching your imagination work. You're terrific. Very soothing voice too. Question: are there other water colors that granulate that aren't as expensive as Daniel Smith? Because yikes!
@StephanieLaw
@StephanieLaw 4 жыл бұрын
Some, but Daniel Smith is the only one that really speciallly has pigments for that. You can definitely find other granulating pigments generally if you experiment or look up on line people showing swatches and things

Oh my gosh Stephanie, you are so inspiring!! Absolutely beautiful. Love your work. I love to do this with charcoal, just make a mess and stare at it a while and things start to emerge. Will you be releasing another calendar in 2019? xxx

Was that meant to be an owl coming out of the tree at the end? It looked like it to me. So lovely!

I really want to experiment with this technique! Will the salt work with colored inks or acrylics?
@anni4770
@anni4770 4 жыл бұрын
It could possibly work with acrylics if they're diluted to watercolour consistency, ink might have a bit too much pigment in it to have the same effect but it would probably do something :D
