Agree 100%. I hate when channels churn out fiction and try to pass it off as nonfiction. For example, I used to follow Being Scared until it became obvious that he was making up stories replete with the same terrible (and terribly pretentious) prose. Just call it amateur fiction, dude. The only "true" horror is that people buy it.

So when I was 8 I went camping on the first night me and my family were sleeping but I woke up to a light rustling outside of my tent so I opened my bag and got out a sharp rock I found at a lake and I peeked outside. A man he was wearing a black hood and a weird looking mask he put his hand to his lips and said this to his friend "c'mon they're not worth it but check on the girl" at this point I was panicking. Rock still in hand I went in my sleeping bag and pretended to sleep. I felt two fingers on the side of my neck where my pulse was whoever touched my neck said "yo dude she's ok" I heard whoever he was talking to sighed in what sounded like relief. I don't know who it was or why he checked my pulse to see if I was ok it wasn't my mother father or my brothers voice I asked my mom who they were she looked at me like I was crazy I saw the man in the black hood he put his finger to his lips so man that touched my neck. Who are you?

Today I was in North Carolina at a waterfall with my boyfriend. A man and a woman pull up to the gravel patch on the side of the road. they had left while me and bae were getting our pack ready. We had gone and enjoyed a whole hour it seemed. as we were coming back to the car I see the same man leaning against a tree as if he had been there the whole time. this time with no woman and a different car. I mean I'm a woman and used to creeps but I fear if I was by myself I'd probably never make it home that night

The bark being knocked off around the base of the tree is a technique used by loggers to cull trees. The bark and the layer underneath provide nutrients to the tree, so making this circular strip around the trunk causes it to die. It's also fairly common to mark trees for culling by hitting them with a paintball or three.

Sometimes I think Let's Read! should use an opening with a 1950's-style book cover look, as you'd see it in a Disney movie made for educational films, or a movie based on a famous novel, with a hand opening the cover and turning to the front page. But that's really the Phantom Librarian's thing. I have gotta get my heinie in gear and start reading out loud online.. I just read a couple of paragraphs of a favorite book out loud and realized I have a good style of my own. But your soft and gentle, yet ominous and foreboding tone is very seductive. You know why listeners want to see the face to go with the voice, yet don't want to see it in a way....like seeing a radio personality. Not everyone can be an Edward R Murrow where their face and voice match up perfectly.

I’ve been camping HUNDREDS of times and even at regular campgrounds with people camping right next to us. we use to always bring a gun. At least a little .22 pistol. PROTECTION PEOPLE. If you’re in the USA we have the privilege of being armed use it 🤦🏽‍♀️

T Always! I always carry my LCP everywhere I go no matter what. But when we go camping, we also carry our pistols and at least one rifle. Either the 22 or AR15. I’m actually more comfortable holding the AR. I’ll never understand how people are so terrified of them. They’re so easy to carry and shoot. We live in the woods. Not to mention it’s a very rural area. We’ve never had anything crazy happen so far. But it’s always good to be ready for anything!

the last story: i think the forest is "belanglo state forest" not sure though, hte backpacker murders occured i think 1989-1993 when ivan milat murderer backpackers the "wolf creek" horror movie is loosely inspired by these events. just wanted to share information. stay spooky and try not to get murdered ;)
