That Ring mod seems a lot more usable/musical than most guitar pedal ring mods, but without sounding bland. Guitarists are not the only ones who use effects pedals these days and these lend themselves to experimenting with.

Hard for me to get excited about stolen/ported algorithms with a bougie graphic when so many legit pedal companies are doing the "line of $100 pedals" thing. Some of the sounds are cool, and if they were $40-50 the story would be a bit different, but these are double-price Calines, not half-price Walruses.

Sure, since these fx are effectively synth patches to begin with, 50+ years ago. Pedal fx are basically a defined modular patch in "handier" form, more or less. These are useful with ANY setup from FOH to mixdown, just get your level and impedance matched and you're good to go with any I/O arrangement. Only limits are self-imposed - and the buildup of noise, as ever.
@DMStern10 ай бұрын
I want to know what kind of godawful noises you can make by connecting them in unintended ways. E.g. looping the left output back into the right input, or even more complex cross/feedback loops with multiple pedals.

Ryan knows I got the Cetus Reverb on Wednesday, lol. I am impressed with this pedal and roughly the same cost as my Flamma FS02 after 20% off coupon. I sent the Flamma back today and put this on my board. It didn't take long to hit in favorite settings and even got the beginnings of a song from the church setting alone. I am pulling the trigger on more. I already have two delays (3 Series Delay and Oil Can Delay), but tempted to get their delay and the modulation. I talked with a guy who gave them feedback on the pedals before they were ready to fine tune them. Alabs is a Singapore company by musicians who mainly did podcasting and video conferencing gear and finally delved into pedals. They are not a huge company like Donner or Flamma and none of these pedals are rebrands.
