I had a feeling I'd see this spot eventually if I watched enough videos! 💜🔥 Apparently it gets so high up that the flat/rapids section goes calm, and that entire rock back goes under. Hoping I'll be able to figure it out with some more trips this year! P.S. I don't know how the regs were back when this was shot, but it's super illegal to use live Asian carp as bait these days (legal for dead/cut bait!) 🙏💜 Thank you for pulling some of them out!

Conditions like that I'd try fishing a three way rig. That'll keep your bait up off the bottom and maybe free of some of that debris. The fish don't want to be down in that stuff either. Lucky you didn't hit one of those rocks when you fell...that would have been a day ender right there!

Fish the eddys, where the water curves around back up stream. Drift your bait down into the eddy. The fish hang out there, in the slack water, waiting for food to drift down to them. They don't like to fight the current.

For as much fishing that you do, I am surprised that you haven't purchased the fish finder that attaches to the line and then will do a 180-degree swipe and tell you not only whose home but what depth they are at and how many there are of that type of fish.
