Tried Google searching about the incident of the collapsed guy in Sefton park in Liverpool & I found nothing. Hopefully this means the guy survived 🙏🏽 On the other hand, so many incidents happen in that park alone, it's haunting 😳

That last story really hit home for me. I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one with a fear of dogs. Most people tend to look at me like I'm insane when I say that dogs scare me but I mean it's justified. I've been chased multiple times, attacked twice, and still have the scars to show for it. People really do need to keep a better handle on their dogs; well trained or not.

same, I’m super terrified of them. I can only deal with the little ones if I see them often and they’re nice. I hate when people think it’s funny and a joke that I’m afraid of dogs.

I’ve only been chased by dogs, but I’m still really scared of them. I’m scared of all animals, even my cat of 10 years (I’ve never picked her up). However, I definitely find dogs the scariest.

@jennylehtinen6055

I totally understand fearing dogs but I also wish people would understand that a barking dog is not often aggressive. Some dogs are very reactive which means they don't really know what to do with themselves other than bark or lunge which isn't the dogs or owners fault. I have a reactive dog and he has been like that from a puppy. No amount of training and positive reinforcement has been able to change that. He is still any less worthy than a "well behaved" dog. Also, if the dog in the story really was a wolf hound, they are sight hounds so it's natural to chase after a moving object or person. That being said, I hope people would get dogs the size they can handle even if they react strongly. My dog is about 20 kg and I can perfectly hold him if need be. I hope you can someday meet some nice and patient dogs that will allow you to alleviate the fear :) ♥️ or at the very least you won't have any more scary encounters. All the best!

Careful curation is key, and channels need to do better about it. Some channels clearly have stories that are written by one person, as the writing style is exactly the same. Channels like The Creepy Fox, Slesor, and some others are bad about this. I'll taken random Reddit and 4chan stories over someone's creative writing any day.

I used to work the Graveyard Shift at LAX for 15 years and I'd jog to work almost everyday , I was a real gym rat back then was also into natural bodybuilding and martial arts, anyways sometimes I'd come across some homeless people, but they never bothered me, they mostly keep to themselves, only problem I ever had was with a large stray dog, and he wasn't much of a problem, I always carry an Escrima Stick with me when I run, that's about 20inches and used in Filipino martial arts, I've been training in that art for over 40 years. I've ran at all hours and everywhere such as the desert, mountains, the beach and cities and small towns, all kinds of weather, many 5k 10k and marathon races, if I'm not running I'm on my bike, I'm 62 now and still keep fit, hope to do an Ironman Triathlon someday !🏃‍♂️

Was thinking the same thing. While the owner did get hurt, she's lucky her dog didn't do more damage to a stranger. What is there was an elderly person or a child trying to walk by? Maybe the owner should have paid more attention when the dog was making a racket.

I agree with the last person. I love dogs, but their owners sometimes are a different story. That lady was lucky her dog didn’t injure the jogger because then it probably would’ve been put down and it would’ve been her fault, not the dog’s. Her dog seemed aggressive and if the owner doesn’t train it, it could attack her next. There’s this huge playful dog that I see sometimes around my apartment building and twice it has pounced on me. It has never hurt me though. The owner always apologizes but what good is an apology when they don’t properly train their dog and the same thing happens again. I’m probably not the only person this has happened to, also. I’ve considered going to management about it but they’re pretty much useless when it comes to handling their tenant’s complaints. So I just try to avoid them and take another route when we do cross paths which is thankfully not often, even though I think they do live on my floor because I hear the dog bounding down the hall all the time when they’re being taken out. I’m not annoyed at the dog, it’s just doing what’s in its nature. I am however completely fed up with its owner.

I'm glad you see that it's always the owner's fault when a dog misbehaves. After all, protecting their herd is their natural instinct, they are not to blame. Also, a dog is not a thing, so "it" is the wrong pronoun to use. Concerning your problem, I'm afraid there's not much you can do, but I can totally suggest Netflix' "Canine Intervention", if you haven't seen it already. You can learn a lot about dogs and dogs' language, but also how you can act around dogs to keep them at check. Maybe it helps!
