I filled my freezer with chicken breast, pork chop, and steak bags in various marinades to grill. And, if the weather is bad, the air fryer, pressure cooker, or fry pan work in a pinch. I cook and freeze all my rice in the electric pressure cooker. It just takes seconds to resteam it in the microwave from frozen.

I like cooking and freezing rice too! It’s so simple to make on the stove or the pressure cooker but when it’s already done and just needs heating in the microwave what a pleasure!

We definitely say Ku-Ba-Saw around here but we try to say keel bah sah for "y'all" and we mess it up every time. haha!

If you have a meat thermometer and an electric can opener but DON’T have a rice cooker! You both need it! Of course if you don’t cook rice at least once a week then it’s just added clutter but it’s a wonderful piece of clutter. I now only make jasmine rice and I can make up to 12cups at a time using my rice cooker. But I’m also making our dog’s food with it and freeze any extra.

My daghter-in-law, who lives with me, accidently turned on a hotplate while her rice cooker was sitting on the stove. I decided to buy a new one. I found one that had settings for white rice, brown rice, porridge and soup. Being a fan of brown rice, I decide to buy the rice cooker. I had never used a rice cooker before, so I had my daughter-in-law show me how to cook some brown rice. We have had it for about 19 months and I have never used it again. She uses it between 2-4 times a week.

If you have an instant pot they work similar to a rice cooker...

I've heard that, yes. I don't have an instant pot for the same reason though. I have too many appliances already. The air fryer was a big consideration in that too.

Can you cook the wild rice and freeze it? If you have an instant pot it will cook rice.

I don't see why not! You can freeze other kinds of rice so I'm sure it would freeze.

I have cooked my wild rice in seperate pot then in a different pot cooked up my white rice. When done, let it all cool down, then mixed wild and white all together, filled small freezer bag with 2 cups in each and freeze. Turned out great.
