I was introduced to your channel with that orange 5 gallon bucket growing mushrooms video cause I was interested in how people grow mushrooms for themselves... I want a garden full of different edible mushrooms in the future so I'm glad I saw your channel when I did. Thanks for the good videos man, it's nice to see where you've been finding different mushrooms and their different growing patterns/needs

First thing I thought of in the clip where you unbox the big reishi mushroom was a giant viking mushroom shield.

Great video as usual. Thanks for posting it. It would be really cool if you guys grew a few different kinds of bioluminescent mushrooms just to compare the results. I know they aren't totally considered edible or medicinal but I've been really interested in growing them as ornaments but I haven't found any information or videos about growing them at home. You could be the first! Anyway, just an idea. Keep up the great work!

Do you have any recommendations for the easiest mushroom to grow? The whole sterile environment, misting every 6 hours and short shelf life is a bit daunting. I'm going to grow some gold oyster mushrooms soon from a kit.

Hey Tony, I've seen you mention pleurotus nebrodensis in a couple of past videos - do you have any more info on this mushroom? I have some grain spawn colonising at the moment from a liquid culture and I really haven't been able to find out very much about it. I'm excited to grow something new anyhow!
@FreshCapMushrooms3 жыл бұрын
Ya, I would try growing it similar to how you might grow King Oysters- seems to have some similar properties and the grow rooms that I have seen it flourishing in are right beside Kings. So hardwood sawdust + bran as a substrate, probably don't need a casing layer. Hope that helps!

@@FreshCapMushrooms Thanks so much for the reply! Super helpful info, as I am also growing kings at the moment 😁🍄

If you watched Asterix & Obelix movies you are familiar with the old Druid make a magic drink. It is believed that these drinks really existed in Europe and they mainly contained Amanita muscaria. Wariors drank it before a battle because apperently you will experience less fear and pain.Though I think the tricky thing with medicinal mushrooms is the dose. Otherwise it could be dangerous and even the content of every single mushroom can vary. This might be the reason why you see the Druid in the comic having giant pot with liquid: this kind of soup dilutes and balances the content.
