7 Things Not To Say To An Ex When Hoping To Get Back Together
After a breakup, most people are filled with regrets when hoping to win back the heart of their significant other. It seems like most always have a message, or words they want to convey to express what they’ve learned since the separation, how they are now different and what they can now offer.
But truth is, your partner is probably not ready to listen…and forcing dialogue may lead you to push your ex away more than anything else.
That’s why during private coaching sessions I often focus more on what not to do or things not to say to an ex in order to help people get a clear understanding of what they should do, how they need to act and in order to paint a clear way forward.
My name is Coach Adrian from Love Advice TV. We want to give you at home all the tips and tools and resources you may need to see the change you want in your relationships. We offer these free videos to help you rebuild a connection with the person that you love the very most.

This your quote totally got me, one of the realest speeches I've heard "We value what we don't possess, and we value what we've lost". You pour your inner heart into this job, you show less interest about the money aspect of it, you have the ability to get into the inner minds of your audience, all I can say is "You're spectacular in this job". Many of us feels like we have somebody sitting next o us coz of the way make it so natural.

I am in the middle of separating after 25 years together. I am am grateful that I found your channel. I'm getting so frustrated because my emotions are so inconsistent. I have moments of peace, happiness, and not being trapped inside my head. Those moments temporarily give me some sort of false sense of security. Just when I think that these moments are meaning that I'm (getting) emotionally cured... a memory, song, smell takes me back to my feeling of loss and I'm back to being a sad, blubbering, idiot. Today was a 'blubbering idiot" kind of day. I discovered your videos and I get a sense of hope. With or without my marriage... I find comfort in knowing that I'm not alone in the type of despair and your videos include some feedback that has touched my heart. I am looking forward to more of your videos and eventually putting some action items in motion that I've learned from you. I'm blessed to have found you on a day I needed what you are offering. I just wanted to to say thank you.

Thank you so much. I am going to be visiting my ex in a few months, seeing him for the first time in about 13 years, although we have been talking on the phone weekly for the past 9 months. What you said about taking things slow and focusing on having fun and being relaxed lines up perfectly with what my ex has been saying! 😃 Thanks again!

This is so difficult for me. I watch your videos a lot they really help, but I’m the one that ended the relationship. It’s all the opposite way around. I actually watch to help myself grow, Keep strong and evolve. My ex is back trying to persuade me to get back with him (I do still love him) but I don’t believe a damn word he says or have faith that he’s changed. I don’t want to risk how far Iv moved on on my own. If only he watched these videos instead of me.

This is great advice... But what do I do if I already did all the wrong things when they were leaving? I lashed out I told them I'd change blah blah blah... I mean I know we both need some time and I actually want it now too. My ex moved back to where we came from 3 states away... And he left some of his stuff here with the intention that I'd bring it back to him later so I know I will have to see him eventually...

Why women are so psycho all the time, what if she likes new you for few weeks or month or a year, and feel same no passion again, its mental illness and one can not put all effort to reconcile without other doing shit to save it. Counseling, workout routine, meditation, new life in new location can might help for both, don't go back if you want her really bad go back if she's sorry for her decision or ready mentally, without any pressure or manipulation from family and friends. Just saying Hope all will be good soon for you and your family betterment. B+

i have a day of watching your videos they have helped me already. My concern is i was the one who wasn't being the loving person in the relationship and constantly chased him away. I did the break up and then realize it was a mistake. once i did that i tried reaching out to him; i even had to say a lie to get him to talk to me. Now i poured my heart out to him but there was no crack in him. It's been like a week n i haven't done the no contact scenario i'm afraid to loose him nevertheless i am noticing i should but once i have done that; whats next other than working on myself. How long should i wait to contact him again?

I have changed over the month since my fiance moved out and left me. We both go to the same church still, different services... so he saw me at a fellowship event and I knew he was there but I was genuinely having a great time with friends there and wasn't really concerned with what he was doing. He phoned me that evening... I told him with genuine enthusiasm how much I've learned. Apparently he was on his way to my place while we were talking because 20 minutes later he says "open the door, please" and we embraced, cried, and he told me how much he loves me deeply and he missed me but he was so afraid that things would be the same if he came back. We apologized to each other. He said he wanted to get back together and take things slow. I should have been rational and say let's just talk and enjoy each other first and then take the next step. But of course, in my excitment I said, YES. I asked if he is committed to really working on this and he said that is the plan and that he is so happy we are reunited, and he never is going to let me go (he is an honest person so I took his word for it). Sure enough, the next day he called me after a tough day at work, he made a comment about the day he left and that brought up a lot of pain because he left so suddenly with no explanation, just a note on the kitchen counter next to his promise ring saying "goodbye". We argued. He left again, this time with an email saying he hopes I find the love of my life and it's not him (our mutual friends are sure his mom guilt-tripped him into leaving again instead of sticking it out, he is a closet-momma's boy and she never liked me no matter how nice I was to her. The night we had gotten back together I asked about what his mother would think and he said he wanted to have a talk with her to tell her how we feel about each other and that I'm going to be his wife one day. My guess is he attempted to have that talk with her and she pressured him into going the opposite way). He was a frontlines combat veteran in the Marines deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan shortly after 9/11... his ptsd had been surfacing right when things started getting really bad between us before the initial breakup... that might have something to do with his leaving again too. He kept saying how confused and freaked out by everything -even with taking a shower for too long because he thinks someone will try to put a knife in his chest at any moment - he gets yelled at all the time at work and that "brings me back to the desert" but he has to try and stay calm and put on a mask at work because he is in a high-level position. I want to be there for him because he doesn't open up to anyone else about his trauma except me... not even momma-dearest... because his whole family tries to pretend he's this golden boy and there's nothing wrong with him. I had another fiance who was an economics professor that had been through a lot of family trauma but his family did the same thing... tried to pretend like they had the best family and that his depression was all in his head... he ended up committing suicide two years before I met my current ex who just left me. I don't want him to take that downward spiral. He's not going to the men's groups at church anymore so there's no support system and he won't see a counselor or talk to our pastor so there's no one keeping him accountable for his issues. I know he loves his family and he should honor them, but I think that isloating himself and just sticking with his family's advice is dangerous because I've observed their family does not know how to be open about or resolve conflict, they just pretend it's not there and laugh it off. They can't identify there's a real problem in him that he needs help with because they don't WANT to see it. I love him more than anyone on this planet... and more than getting back together with him I just want him to be healthy and wake up. It will sound weird to most of you, but God told me directly that He ordained for us to be married one day but since he has his free will that's no guarantee that he will accept that we are supposed to be together (although he did acknowledge that we complement each other perfectly and when things are good between us we are really good about trying to make life easier on the other person through service and how I amaze him with how loving and loyal I am). I believe God can do anything for those who abide in Him but my natural fears make me worry about him all the time instead of letting go and letting God. I'm still working hard on myself and pray for my "promised husband" everyday... it's just hard to not worry about him making bad choices while we are in no contact round 2. By the way... could he come back after breaking up and doing no contact a 2nd time? What advice do you have for that, coaches?

I miss him so much. Today he said he still feels like he loves me and that we will see in the near future what will become of us. One month ago he said there is no chance of getting back together but he'd still love me and he wants me in his life because I have a big place in his heart. I don't know if he is just trying to keep me close now because he is scared of losing me for good.. He also told me that he was very sad and couldn't sleep when I said that I couldn't stay in touch with him if he just wants to stay friends. It is just too soon and it hurts too much. So when he thought that I didn't want to see him anymore he couldn't sleep. What does it all mean? I am so beyond lost and I can't stop crying because it is hard seeing him so often and having a great time together when there are still feelings involved. This weekend he wants to take me to a party where he only knows one person. He said he is looking forward to go with me. He is even planning to go on vacation with me again. Twice! One time with his family and one time just the two of us. So exactly the way we did last year when we were together. Oh and by the way... his family and a lot of his friends still think we are together.

Hello. I was broken up with a week ago. I am living with them and trying to find somewhere else to live. I believe our situation is salvagable. But until I find somewhere to go I want to act appropriately so we may possibly be able to have a chance to try again.

I'm working on this. I still keep bringing up the relationship and it upsets him. He needs time to heal and I'm working on not brining up the breakup anymore and just focusing on our friendship when we hang out

What happens when you have changed after a first breakup and he hasn’t? But then he breaks up with you again and blames you because he is the one that remained the same and it caused problems? Six weeks nc the first breakup. And he came back! I was doing fine and he did and said all of the right things to make me believe that he had changed. But i jumped in head first. I shouldn’t have! I should have tested him! I’m slowly but surely learning!!! And now onto nc #2. This man is the man that I want to spend the rest of my life with!!! I pray everyday that God sends me a miracle!

I have a chance we are starting fresh but I think I was over rushing and just feel like I’ve outgrown her and been distancing myself and feel like we aren’t meant to be or will ever find happiness so thank you for this I don’t want to ruin this because we both still love each other just confused and aren’t in love but I hope this helps thank you

My ex just broke up with me about 16 days ago and I’m so worried she was the one. And the relationship ended because of me. I made mistakes and I know I made her feel like she wasn’t important to me. But she always was, I allowed my own laziness and depression and anger ruin her. The very moment she told me “this is over and we’re never getting back together “ hit like a 2 ton truck. Seeing her hurt and seeing her angry because of me made me realize just how much she meant to me and just how important she is. Since I first started watching these I realized that I needed to work on myself if I wanted her to be apart of my life. I find myself working on myself, going to counseling, getting those priorities done that she wanted to help me with and not letting my depression sink in so deep. I know it isn’t the end of the world, I know I can’t do everything right and I know that I will always continue to make mistakes. But it still hurts. I just want to become a better person and become someone im proud of. I may be taking the right steps but I am not doing so well mentally.

You are amazing! What nationality are you if you don't mind me asking. I am going through a break up right now and my boyfriend is an Iraqi Muslim, I on the other hand am American and I can't say I've been involved with any religion in my life. I'm a Protestant but my parents never went to church so I'm not very knowledgeable. But when my boyfriend and I started dating I really wanted to understand his beliefs and I really wanted to learn everything about him. He also wanted to know everything about me. Over the past year and a half we've had our disagreements and most because sometimes he is misunderstanding what I'm trying to say, SPECIALLY if I am upset about something. He's only been in the US for 7 years so he speaks English well enough but not enough to always know what I'm saying and I truly try my hardest to make sure I explain it in a way that he can understand, I tried harder at our relationship than any other I've ever been in and I didn't mind, I love him... With my whole heart. I know my worth and I know I'm strong and beautiful, I love myself and who I am very much and I hadn't always loved myself, so when I learned to love myself and I took some time to focus on me and my life and I felt how great life was I was so thrilled. Then I met Wisam. He changed my life. He opened my mind to so MANY things and then that's when I felt whole, totally and completely complete. 100% content, and we loved each other so much, I had never felt a love so strong. Everyone around us would tell us we Gave off the most amazing vibe as a couple. He asked me to be his wife in the future and asked me if I would mother his children and I was so happy I couldn't have imagined a more wonderful human being to spend my life with. About a year and a half into it things start happening, he's becoming stressed because his car died, he didn't have the money to buy another yet but also didn't want to lease one he had his citizenship test and I too had a lot going on. We didn't live together and we were seeing less and less of each other... We would video chat every morning for around 2.5 hours and then he'd call me when he was home from work say goodnight and tell me he loved me. We started having arguments though, I was upset because we weren't seeing each other and he'd get frustrated because he always told me we'd make it work. But I'd be missing him and a little sad at times. We got into a pretty nasty fight 2 weeks ago, he wouldn't really answer my texts and them yesterday he just texts me and says, "we done, that what I want stop txt plz" 2 weeks ago he loved Me more than anything and he even said something to me about how I was getting better at not arguing. I don't know what to do. I know he loves and I obviously love him too, or I wouldn't be typing this, I want him to come back. I am sick without him. I literally feel like someone took half of me and I don't know how to function. He didn't block my number of delete me from social media and normally that's something he would definitely do. I don't want to make things more. But I don't him to think I don't care. Help me. Please! You're the best relationship expert I've seen on KZbin yet. Thank you so much for this video! You're truly awesome and appreciated! XO
