I made this 7up pound cake last night. God bless you! My Mama was the baker in my family and she now has dementia. Although I have her recipes it didn't taste like hers. SO I FOLLOWED YOU as you suggested! I loved my Mama's cake... BUT this was so much lighter and then hers. I immediately passed it on to my sister! Thank you so much!!!

Dementia took away her ability to have a present time conversation! My mom has since passed away Jan 2021 from c-19. So, no more anything from her. AND I not from my 7up pound cake to be clear! 🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾

Her 7-Up pound cake was one requested by everyone, and although I was able to record her recipe (with no instructions), I find this one to be closer to hers. Started using this recipe about a year ago. My family now begs me for it! It’ll definitely be on the table for thanksgiving tomorrow. Y’all: Watch the video so you’ll know the steps she took. This isn’t a throw it all in the bowl recipe. Get the cake flour. Take your time when mixing. If you follow her step by step, your mix will have the literal consistency of silk.

I bake the 7- UP CAKE and made your favor Caramel frosting and it was soooooo delicious thanks for the recipe. I sent the video of the cake to my daughter in California she said she was thinking about driving five hours to Las Vegas to get some cake. I worked at a bakery and we used flour sprays like that Pam but I was taught to only barely cover the pan then lay the pan upside down to let the excess spray drip out. Especially for bunt cakes because the extra spray can make the cake split

Ok, last night I decided I needed to try this cake. Walmart was out of flour, Swan's & extracts. My daughter said she had everything I needed. When she got home, there was only a 1/2 cup of flour left. I was not going to let this stop me. So at 10:30 at night I made my daughter take me to Von's. I was able to fine Swan's & everything I needed. To make a long story short. I finished the cake at 1:45, waited for it to cool. Had my first piece at 2:30 am. Just like you said, the cake came out PERFECT! OMG, this is a fabulous easy to follow recipe. Chris thanks so much for sharing this.

Hello Ms. Cook.. I made this today. I gotta tell you, I been dying to make this for over 20 years, but never came across a recipe till last week... God has really blessed your hands for all you cook. I made it, and couldn't believe how moist and tasty. I just knew it was going to come out good... The only sad part for what ever reason it over lapped in my oven, in my bunt pan but it was ok... Then it would not budge on coming out. I sprayed it reAl good but no luck... No worries... I sliced it up n oh my... It took our family down memory lane down south😁.. Mrs. Cook... I agree. Sprite has a better flavor than 7-UP. It used to be a nice drink but I think they fooled with the recipe; it tastes metallic now.
