Another great video with very good information. I am in the US and have been getting into air guns for the last 4 months and finding out how addictive it is with a big compressor, tank, rifle cases, scopes and 7 rifles later. Whew!

Interesting set of results, seen a few try these pellets and getting respectable results. Not tried any of them myself yet though.

Got some after "Tillys Gunstocks" recommend them. However tin was full of swarf. Had to give the pellets a good clean a few times to get them ready for the range.

I haven't got any big tins yet. there was some tiny fragments in some sample tins, but not enough to comment on.

@@hftshooterthey're a bit rank mate in the big tins. Quite an oily residue on them, that sticks the lead swarf to them. Well worth a quick wash and clean up though as they perform pretty well. 😉

Cheers, I'll bear that in mind. All the sample pellets were fine so I guess the ihunter guy must have cleaned them when making up the little tins.

Used them in a few rifles, most with very encouraging results, had them in 4.50 & 4.51, had no 4.52s but that didn't matter the other two are just fine.. Next too test are the Rifle thunder, forget the exact grain, but 13.6grn I THINK, can't walk yet to get out and try them, but I'm convinced they'll be good squizzer poppers at 25 - 30mtrs..

Myself and Rex both use the heavies , me 4.52 in a pcp and Rex 4.51 in his springer …. Got a couple sleeves of them now …. Great pellets !! And were a good price too 👍🏻

I saw Rex using them at Springfield, which is partly what prompted me to do the test. 🙂👍

For us over here in Brazil these pellets are the top end of the more affordable (still the equivalent of 20 quid a tin) pellets before we get into imported JSBs and H&Ns (40 quid for 500). I've always found the Premium series to be over the stated weight but they are usually consistently over and head diameter is usually good. I've tried most of the range and the only ones I use in competition are Premium Flathead Mediums (10m open sights springer) and Premium Thunder (HFT open class PCP). They have just launched a Super Selected range of the Flatheads here, I will have to try them out, they might save me some prep work. None of my rifles liked the RTX, but some other shooters at the club have reported good results with them over the HFT course, mostly in over 12ft/lbs springers. We don't have power restrictions here, so most folks like the more powerful guns. However we do occasionally have international HFT meets, so some of us have sub 12 rifles. Unfortunately my two sub 12s have expensive tastes, 8.44 Exacts for one and H&N FTTs for the other. I have had good results with their Promax pellets in.22, easily good enough for pest control up to 25m. Well worth a look if you step up in calibre. They also do a range of slugs, but I haven't tried them out and don't know if you are getting them over there.

Not too shabby but I'll be staying with H+N FTT 4.52 for my 98 and S400. For my Cometa Fenix 400 it's Superdomes. As for the Diablo STRs may as well use little stones, waste of lead. Good video as usual.

For each rifle you choose a different control. That pellet that gives the best results in that rifle. And the "rifle brand pellet" managed to be the same or better in all the rifles tested. In my opinion it is an excellent pellet brand.

Very nice test in a windless environment and also physical exertion in frost, thank you. The outdated STR rifle ammo is out of the question unless you just want to shoot cheap plinks with it, but the premium class diabolos can certainly keep up. Maybe the RTX Medium are just as good as the RTX Heavy at a shorter distance of 20 yards? In terms of price it makes no difference. The dome fields are also the same and I think they are just as good. It's more a question of which type suits the weapon best. And in terms of price they are a competitor to H&N. JSB or RWS are significantly more expensive in our premium class, sometimes up to around 50%! I'm glad that our underground 50m shooting range is heated and very well ventilated. This means that even when shooting with black powder, the toxic gases and fine dust from the smoke can escape quickly without you inhaling too much of it. There's something offensive about the "Pay First" sign in the background, but that's probably due to cultural differences and isn't a problem in the UK. Oh yes, I'm German.

Thanks for commenting. Those signs weren't there when I last visited. I guess some shooters are forgetting their range fees?

Those Rifle Diablo STR look just like ELEY WASP from a long time ago. Maybe even 50 years. Still have half a tin of them.

Yes they do. The first pellets I had were Eley Wasp and Marksman, both pretty awful by todays standards.

with fat fingers and bad eyes I cant use 177 unless i have a magnifyng glass and a pair of tweezers. 22 is easy to see, easy to handle, more accurate than I can be and is better value because I get more lead for my money.

@@hftshooter 1MOA from seated at 50yards from my HW97 with a Welsh Willy kit & vortek piston seal. Even if I could see and handle the smaller calibre I wouldnt be grouping any smaller than 1MOA, especially with the increased recoil and reduced efficiency we get with 177. Also your PCPs will get more shots per fill. Honestly, nothing can touch my 97 with 5.53 H&N FTT, its like a laser beam.
