I was in the CG for few years, my job was great, but things got crazy and I left. Anyway, I miss the water. Because of your videos I realized this was all possible and I bought my first sailboat yesterday for a few hundred bucks. I’m going to get back to sea, so thank you, keep it up. It’s inspiring. Safe winds, maybe I’ll see ya around. 🙏🤙

Yep he may sound a bit modest but tell you what when he's atta that cockpit he's got that lifeline on HIM it ain't there just for looks! He's also patient BUT persistent. I watched him take over 5 minutes and several attempts to switch tacs from starboard to port in nasty weather but he eventually got it done. This is something to think about when single handed if comparing pedestal to tiller.

Sam. It’s really you. Pardon my comment. I watch a lot/ most of your videos, because I like them. I know you are diligent and safe at sea. It was an off the cuff comment that I made while you were maybe working the drone. Forward of the cockpit. It was like I was there and felt like ribbing you while you were recording…… that’s all. God bless you Sam, you are brave and inspiring to your viewers, me included. Me, I sail a 7.6 Kelt, not far but through a beautiful group of Islands in BC. Known as the gulf islands.

Just another sail around the Med with our man Sam. Living the dream. Even the birds like your videos. A spinnaker sock would help you immensely with the hoisting & dousing of the big chute Sam- look into buying one. The sock would keep it dry sorta, less mess and worry for you. Maybe a sock sponsor would donate one to you? On the editing- keep it simple. Sometimes that's the best formula. Raw and unfiltered works. If you spent most of your valuable time editing- you're wasting the fun part of living. The finger rolled baloney with mustard is a tasting snack Sam- don't ask me how I know this! Greece to Malta. Box checked. Time for some boat work- maybe some R & R too. Is your lady friend coming to visit you in Malta? U seem very happy when she IS around- just say'n. Stay safe out there partner.

Sam you can save even more energy boiling eggs by cooking in 1cm deep boiling water with a cover on. The steam cooks the egg on a very low light so hardly any gas used for the same cooking time. Love the channel

@samholmessailing Sam, another thing to do when in port is to cook a larger meal, and while it's piping hot, put it in a glass jar with a screw cap. This meal is essentially pasteurised and will stay fresh unopened for months without refrigeration. Obviously, use a clean jar. All this meal then needs is a simple warm before eating. I do this for camping trips. Saves a lot of cooking and gas and the food is quality as I have cooked the ready meal myself. Works for stews., currys, tomato dishes, chilli etc.
