My dude, they (Cops) are taught that they are to go home at the end of their shift safe and alive. This started being taught in Oklahoma in the 90's and is hammered in to officers now even more. It's came in when "Community Policing" training started. As for those officers they should never be allowed to work in law enforcement again. They are both incompetent and need to go to work at Walmart or in the fast food industry.

Exactly, there was, or is still pending a case where a police officer set a man on fire by stupidly using a taser on him at a gas station while he was refueling his bike. The hospital asked for around $8 million for his medical treatment, if I remember correctly. Given the extent of the damages here, I think it would be no less, if not more. So she might even end up being disabled for the rest of her life, and all she got was money to cover her treatment, if that is even enough. That's crazy.

A fair few years back I got 2 members of the UK police fined and fired for parking violations and false arrest. They parked directly outside my business, blocking my vehicles and public access to my building for an "investigation" that didn't involve me or my company. When I arrived to demand they move their illegally parked vehicles, they decided I needed to be arrested for obstructing their ability to investigate. Charges got dropped, but I didn't leave it there. Eventually the county got pissed off with having to deal with it so they got fired. And rightly so. If I can get that done for something much less dangerous than this, why are these cops just allowed to continue putting people in danger? Animals.

In Canada too. Walked all my life in them to go fishing and it’s not really enforced. I can’t find the number but it’s 30 metres or 100 feet or whatever just waking. It’s actually private property but federal crime. Definitely could have added it a legitimate extra charge for insult to injury.

Common sense comes to mind. We don't park on train tracks because a train might come along and hit us. We don't play in traffic because a car might hit us. We don't put our hand down the garbage disposal when it's running. We don't walk barefoot on broken glass. It's all common sense. Does the world have to become one huge red flashing sign for idiots like these cops?

BTW - the part that brought on the tears is where you said you believed, as a police officer, you should be prepared to give your life for those you swore to protect and serve.
